Bodrum Golden Beach Hotel

AVOID! If I could put 0 stars I would! I actually missed my first flight and think it was a sign to never go. This was supposed to be a nice holiday for myself, my mum and my 2 children (aged 7 & 5). The hotel is advertised as having all these facilities that are non existent. The pictures are probably from when they first opened. I got back 2 days ago and will never go turkey again because of this. All local people outside of the hotel apologised that we had been tricked into staying here as even they know it’s a disgraceful hotel. They advertise as having around 400 rooms, the buffet area is absolutely tiny, no guests have any manners and we’re pushing and shoving us out the way, one woman even took a serving spoon out of my sons hands as he was using it. The food is disgusting and the area is dirty. We ended up spending so much money to go out for our 3 meals a day as the hotel was too unhygienic. Apparently all inclusive but we all lost weight, there is no ice cream for children, no cocktails unless you tip the bartender (even though you’ve paid for all inclusive), cockroaches seen in various places around the hotel, ants all over the floor in the rooms, birds nests on every floor next to rooms meaning bird poo all up corridors and walls (my son contracted worms and a face reaction due to this). Staff were very rude speaking about the British women around the pool, refusing to help with any issues, making racist remarks towards my children as one is mixed race. The rooms are disgusting and unhygienic and in the 8 days I was there not once did my room get cleaned even when requested. There is absolutely no hygiene, no safety, I honestly do not know how the hotel is still open let alone rated a 4 star resort. I was told by one staff member that the nice rooms are kept for the locals and by another that the pictures are not their rooms when questioned about the state of the hotel compared with what is advertised. We were refused water and turned away from dinner in an all inclusive hotel where one night my children had to go to bed with just crisps for dinner as we were turned away. The water slides are not open all day which is not clear in the advertisement and the displayed times in the hotel still doesn’t always reflect the times they actually come on. It is advertised as having WiFi but fails to mention it only works in the reception area which I never would’ve booked otherwise as my SEN child needs internet in the rooms. The beach is atrocious, dirty and unsafe with broken steps leading into the ocean. The air conditioning unit did not work. The water in the bathroom often stopped working completely or was just cold water, making it very difficult to clean my young children. Avoid at all costs, this hotel should be shut down and in the least taken off of uk sites if they hold any standards for what they are selling or in this case miss selling its customers.

Apart from few really nice people working there, the location is second positive aspect of this hotel.

It was out last day yesterday stayed 2 beautiful weeks all members of my family was happy didn't want to leave. Even though it is a very professional business but we fully felt the hospitality of their staff and the family who owns the hotel. Food,service rooms , hospitality and hygiene of the place was amazing thank to all of once again hope to see them next year.

This hotel offered excellent value for money; the food was very good, and the animation team was especially attentive to us, looking after us morning and evening. We were very grateful; it was a truly wonderful vacation. The location is excellent, and the rooms are just as good.
