Charm Beach Bodrum

A hotel with no entertainment, poor food variety, does not even deserve 3*; luckily, it's clean- cleaned daily; the all-inclusive does not offer any snacks between meals, you can order something, but there are no salads, small snacks, fruit (even for breakfast, lunch and dinner there are only apples and oranges!).

Not sure who's writing the reviews but no way are they legit. Quick and easy check in. Staff nice. Yes English isn't great but we're in a foreign country so it's to be expected. No ATM or currency exchange in the hotel or within walking distance. Google said its a half hr walk to local town turgutreis, it is well over an hour. Around £7 for a taxi, which you will find the taxi rank when you come out of the hotel and walk 100 metres to the left. Dolmus (bus) is about 40p and you just stand on the road opposite taxi rank,there's no dolmus sign but that's where it stops. Turgutreis is a nice town,has your shops selling handbags, etc. Also can book trips here to the island of Kos,they'll pick you up from the hotel and it's alot cheaper than booking with the hotel. Beach is full of cigarettes but not the hotels fault,they provide bins at every parasol, it's lazy tourists fault. Stray dogs on beach,they do not bother you at all. If your a dog lover,they'll love any treats or water and are so gentle. Not many loungers around pool and the ones there are always taken with towels on but no one around for hours. Head was battered first few days as the music was blasting from the pool,beach and next door hotel,it just wasn't relaxing at all. Beach is like grit so beach shoes are ideal. Se beautiful fish to be seen when snorkelling. Cleanliness is lacking massively. Floors,surfaces, bathrooms, daily cleanin just not done to even half an expected standard. Shower door wouldn't shut properly, shower bracket hanging off wall. We didn't dare use the bedside lights,they weren't plugged in,as we tried to plug them in we notice the wire taped up and the plug was flimsy so chose not to attempt to use them. One blanket on bed,had to ask for another as it was a single blanket laid horizontal on the bed. Bed was comfy,pillows comfy, room temperature was great as air-conditioning worked well in our room,but...sleeping was awful as it was so noisy! Night entertainment didn't quiet down until around 11.30pm and it was like a competition over who could play the loudest with the hotel next door. Entertainment wasn't great as aimed at locals only. The mosque starts it's calls at 5.30 in the morning and is on and off all day! I've not known this anywhere else I've stayed in turkey and to be woken every morning at 5.30 when your meant to be on holiday is ridiculous when it sounds so loud that you think they're in the room with you! Beach restaurant is your best bet for decent food. It's cooked to order off a set menu. Main restaurant is disgusting, I don't know who's commenting it's great but I'm not a fussy eater,never eat out when all inclusive but have done this week alot. There's a lack of choice,it's not replenished so if you choose to go later in the night,good luck. Veg is swimming in water. Same boiled beef every night, a similar chicken option and a main meat option such as kebab meat,chicken,more chicken. Breakfast was disgusting, uncooked rice pudding,my partner had to go to the loo to spit it out. He went for toast instead,toaster didn't work so he had undercooked pancakes instead. We ended up walking up to the bakery up the road most mornings for something edible. Waiters concentrate on customer tables so if you need a table you'll struggle as they're left needing cleaning. When eventually cleared,they aren't re set so you go on a mission looking for cutlery which comes in paper holders,your lucky to get a knife and fork,ours usually had a desert fork and a small butter knife inside. Alot of the plates still have dried food on, the desert spoons and forks you help yourself to are not always clean either. The thought of eating that food again makes me feel nauseous and I'm not usually fussy,love foreign and new foods but would never go here again. It's nice that it's on the beach,it looks beautiful at night, beautiful view of the island of kos,lots of shaded areas to sit, easy to manoeuvre around if your not good on your feet, staff nice enough, but the Cleanliness and food mean we would not return here or recommend it to anyone.
