LABRANDA TMT Bodrum Resort

I have travelled and visited many places and I don’t often leave a review. When doing so, I like to think that I’m being truthful and fair regarding my experiences. My Husband and I spent a week at The Labranda with two of our friends and I can honestly say it has been the worst place I’ve ever stayed and definitely won’t be returning ! How Love Holidays gives this hotel a 5 star rating is laughable, it’s a 2 at best ! With respect, those giving this a good 5 star review, could not have stayed in a top 5 star resort before or its staff posting ! On arrival we taken to our Superior Room on the ground floor. The view from our patio doors was of a brick wall, which was over shadowed by large trees, with a busy road on the other side. We went to reception and told them we were unhappy with our room, in fairness, the staff were very helpful and we were all moved. I don’t think this would have been possible had we arrived later in the week due to the amount of other guests arriving. Be prepared to be pounced on by the guys selling trips and spa days, they don’t leave you alone, even messaging on your WhatsApp ! The rooms are ok, but very old and tired and the beds were so hard, it was like sleeping on a wooden table! The shower is good, but over flows if it’s been on for too long, ours was also very grubby, with lots of limescale. There’s only paper cups provided for Tea and Coffee in the rooms, which is not acceptable for a 5 star rated hotel. However, I will say the rooms are cleaned daily and the towels are always replaced. Unfortunately, the cleaning trolleys are then left in the corridors permanently as there isn’t a store room. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful setting with a great view over looking the sea. The pool area is lovely and great for the kids. There is also a very large decking area with plenty of sun beds by the sea, but again certain areas are looking tired and need replacing as there’s many trip hazards. The outside bars are quite dirty with broken machines and the access at the back of the hotel to the shops is very dangerous at night due to it being poorly lit. The entertainment was actually quite good, although music is very repetitive, unfortunately there’s not enough seating, especially in the under cover area when it was raining ! Finally, the food and drink. I can honestly say this has been the worst I have ever tasted, it was absolutely awful ! Maybe it’s ok for those who like cold meats, salads, tasteless pasta and cheeses every day, if you don’t, then I really wouldn’t waste your time. We gave it 3 days and then ate out the rest of the holiday, I even bought some Pot Noodles to have for lunch as I couldn’t eat what was on offer. If you want a cooked breakfast, you’ll be very disappointed, there is only eggs! No Sausage, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Hash Browns, and its large Stewed Beans. We were surprised to find Cauliflower and Broccoli most mornings for breakfast and the scrabbled egg was swimming in juice! The toaster is a total waste of time and the butter is a large lump in a dish ! The only decent coffee machine located in the restaurant often stops working and the fact there was only one working machine it resulted in having long queues. The lunch and evening meals are no better and we couldn’t believe it when we went for dinner one night and found it was all the same left over food from lunch time! We did go to the À la carte restaurant one night and found that to be a lot better, but sadly, you can only book it once. The drinks in the bar are watered down or taste like paraffin and there’s very little choice, it’s also often served in paper cups ! We ended up going to the local supermarket and buying our alcohol and added it to the soft drinks ! If you don’t like cats then this is not the place for you, it’s riddled with them and if you go to your room early you’ll be awake until at least 12-1am once the entertainment has stopped and all the people have gone back to their rooms. This is because the bar is right in the middle of the complex, so there’s no escaping the noise. Whilst we were there, there was a very large group of older teens, one night in particular they were still running around shouting at 3am ! The Spa is interesting, don’t expect it to be just you and your partner, it’s a bit of a free for all and the woman who massaged me was brutal, even when I asked her to be more gentle. I asked for a relaxing massage and ended up with a lady sitting on my back twisting my legs up, it wasn’t relaxing at all ! WiFi is also very hot and miss, some days it works, the next it dosen’t. If we hadn’t been with our friends, we would have 100 % moved hotels. Quite simply our experience of The Labranda was very disappointing. The staff are great, and the pool/sea area is lovely, but that’s where it ends. It does not cater for any British guests at all! Think long and hard before booking this hotel, it could cost a lot more than you think ! Tui had rated this hotel as a 3 star. Love Holidays totally mis sold us! This is not a 5 star hotel as stated - more like low end 4 star at best. The whole resort is in disrepair, paint peeling everywhere, dangerous broken stairs, slippery tiles across the resort. Small room with no actual bathroom just a toilet and shower, tiny balcony. Be aware that the hillside (standard) rooms are a short walk from the main pool area using an elevator and a bridge across a main road, followed by lots of rough steps - not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. However, the beds are comfortable and the cleaning standard was adequate. The pool and deck area are lovely with stunning views across the water to neighbouring islands and are well maintained by staff. Food on the buffet was not 5 star either, good salads and desserts, but the warm food was mostly unappetizing stews served with mash or rice - very little variety across the week. We also got food poisoning from some nasty fish on the buffet and therefore wasted two days of our holiday in bed while we recovered - a horrible experience. The staff are friendly and did the best they could with a resort that is in serious need of refurbishment and an upgrade to the food offered. I would not recommend this resort to anyone in search of a quality hotel.

Do NOT go. Filthy and we were all sick. Whilst I was being sick I could actually hear someone else in another room being sick too. Reported to management about how dirty rhe hotel is but not interested. Even staff would tell you not to eat there. Sat around the swimming pool with last months spilt coke old apple cores and lots of cats. Please avoid at all costs

I would give Sofia the highest rating from the staff she’s amazing and I would definitely come back for her!!

Food in hotel is not good everything cold here now location is good that's it but you will go hungry complained and still nothing
