Xanadu Island

We returned to Xanadu Island this year after having a truly memorable experience last year. We still had an enjoyable vacation, and the hotel’s beautiful location, facilities, and overall atmosphere remain impressive. However, unfortunately, the service quality has dropped significantly compared with our previous stay. Last year, one of the things that really stood out was the staff’s proactive and attentive service. Employees would regularly come over, check if we needed anything, and make us feel genuinely looked after. This year, the experience was quite different. We repeatedly tried to request services through the hotel’s application, but we were told that the system was having problems. What was difficult to understand was that we received essentially the same explanation throughout our seven-day stay. After a while, it became difficult to believe that the application alone was the real reason for the lack of service. More importantly, even outside the application, we noticed a clear difference in staff attitude. Last year, employees were proactive and would often approach guests to see if they needed anything. This year, we often felt that staff were not even making eye contact or looking around to see whether guests needed assistance. The overall impression was that the willingness to provide proactive service had declined considerably. We also noticed a decline in the quality of some of the in-room amenities. Products such as shampoo, creams, and other toiletries seemed noticeably lower in quality and, in our opinion, no longer matched the standard we would expect from a hotel of this level. To be clear, we still enjoyed our holiday. The location is beautiful, the resort itself is impressive, and there are many things that make Xanadu Island a great place for a vacation. But because we had such a high standard from our previous stay, the difference in service quality this year was particularly noticeable. Because of this experience, we have changed our plans for next year and will not be booking another stay for now. We will follow the changes at the hotel and see whether the service quality returns to the standard we experienced last year. We would be happy to reconsider in the future if we see meaningful improvement. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because Xanadu Island has a lot going for it. Restoring the proactive and attentive service we experienced last year would make a significant difference.

I had a wonderful time, the atmosphere is very relaxing, and the staff is very attentive and responsible towards guests. Also, Sait is a really great guy—he enjoys having fun and chatting with people. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return in the near future.

A great holiday from start to finish. The grounds, private beaches and pools are immaculate and the accommodation are close to everything so easy to get round. We were upgraded on arrival - which was a great touch and these were extremely spacious with a very large bathroom, sitting room and bedroom. In our case we had a balcony overlooking the smaller pool - with Kos in the distance. Food and drink was superb and plentiful, with amazing choices for breakfast and dinner in particular. Lots of sunbeds but need to get to the 'main' beach early-ish to guarantee the best spots. Service in the bars and restaurants was superb and all staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

It was such a wonderful week at this amazing place. The staff are wonderful, attentive, kind, respectful, polite and friendly, Nurlan - beach waiter was made our vacation with mentioned everyday “have a wonderful day”. Also wanna mention entertainment team this year. All were friendly and helpful, especially Sait. But we have also one negative side, in one room the AC was not working, and during 2 days Polina guest relation refused to manage our problem. She was very rude and unhelpful. Only after we wrote to our company guide, the problem was resolved and FO team changed our room. And unfortunately during the birthday I didn’t receive any compliment to the room or on the breakfast.
