Marmaris Bay Resort

Very disappointing stay, unfortunately we wouldn’t return. To start with the positives, the hotel has beautiful scenery, lovely beaches and pretty sunsets. We could generally find a sunbed as long as we put a towel down before breakfast at 9am, the sunbeds on the beach however are practically on top of one another. During the day it was relaxing and fairly quiet, which we enjoyed about it being adults only. There’s a bus right outside the hotel for just a few euros into town, and the water sports area on site was fairly priced and something we really enjoyed. The lunchtime food at the Sea Salt Bar was also tasty, with a good variety and a lovely setting. Sadly, that’s where the positives end. The biggest issue was the noise. The music in the evenings was extremely loud and continued until 11:30pm every night. From our room, we could hear every word of the songs and the bass was incredibly loud. When I went to reception on our first night to raise this, I was simply told the music finished at 11:30pm, with no real solution offered. After the music stopped, the hotel buggies would then screech up and down the hills for at least another 30 minutes, taking guests back to their rooms. This meant we were kept awake past midnight every night. We could also hear the guests above us talking, using the toilet and even plugging in their chargers, the soundproofing was that poor. We also had a serious issue with our air conditioning. On our second day, it started leaking heavily, with water getting into the lights, room key socket, onto the floor and the electrical outlets. I reported the initial problem of it not turning off and was told someone would come and look at it. At around 10:30pm that evening, it started leaking heavily like a running tap, so I had to go back to reception and insist that someone attend immediately as I felt it was a serious fire hazard, I felt as though they would have left the issue if I hadn’t told them I wanted it seen to there and then. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of apology. The problem happened again a few nights later. As it was late and the sound of the water hitting the floor had woken us up, we ended up putting down a towel and stopped using the electricity in the room overnight from then on. The main restaurant was another disappointment. The food was average for an all-inclusive at best and was generally cold, but the bigger issue was the lack of tables. Unless you arrived right at 7pm, we often had to wait around 20 minutes for a table to become available. This is particularly frustrating for a hotel that markets itself as five star, and it also made other guests feel uncomfortable eating while people stood around waiting for their tables. It wasn’t even like there was a queue, it was just a free for all, whoever was closest to the next free table. During our entire seven night stay, we were never once offered a drink at our table. On several occasions, we also had to find and collect our own cutlery. When you’re paying around £1,000 per person for a week, this really isn’t what you expect. To add to that when you eventually got a table you were just consistently bothered by hornets flying around your food, on some occasions we saw people just get up and leave their food altogether after moving tables two or three times! The service was another letdown. I appreciate that many of the staff are very young, but on several occasions, particularly at the pool bar, we stood waiting for several minutes with no queue while staff were sitting watching videos on their phones and didn’t acknowledge us. Aside from one lovely gentleman (I believe his name was Nasih) at the downstairs indoor lounge bar who was very welcoming, we rarely received even a simple “hello” or even eye contact from the other members of staff. While we were sitting in reception waiting for our transfer to pick us up we heard multiple other guests making complaints about issues with their rooms. Overall, this hotel has so much potential because of its location, scenery and facilities. Unfortunately, the excessive evening noise, poor soundproofing, lack of attention from staff, difficulty getting a table and the way our issue was handled completely took away from our experience. For us, it unfortunately did not feel like the relaxing five star holiday we had expected, and we wouldn’t return.

My partner and I have just returned from a ten day stay at Marmaris Bay Resort and felt like we had stepped into paradise. Everything about the hotel and staff exceeded our expectations and we are already considering returning in the future. A perfect woodland retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of Marmaris, but within easy reach if you want to escape. Highlights of our stay were the amazing food (quality and variety), Seasalt a la carte restaurant, different beach and pool areas depending on what vibe you wanted (quiet beach, activities pool, relax pool) and the water taxi (lovely way to travel to Marmaris). All of the staff were amazing - polite, respectful and never over bearing. Particular mention needs to go to the fabulous entertainment team including Bayram and Naz. We loved taking part in the daily darts and aqua gym activities - such fun. Not normally ones for watching daily shows, we were very impressed with them and enjoyed evening cocktails watching high quality performances. All in all, couldn't fault Marmaris Bay Resort. The only gripe I could find, when digging deep, was that the rental bikes need padded seats! 😆 We will return.

Nice location and the scenery is beautiful. The staff are lovely and take the time to talk. The rooms are clean but tired. The issue is all of the steps to the rooms . Yes you can get a buggy but you still have steps to climb. Pack good shoes ! The pathways are not well lit. The food is nice standard hotel buffet , we were disappointed we couldn’t get into the Turkish or Italian restaurant either not open or booked up ! Bring mosquito cream.

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. We both relaxed into the holiday spirit quickly. The room was comfortable and kept clean. Service was really good and enjoyed the buggy rides back to the room. Unfortunately the food was pretty poor. The choice wasn’t great and it was mostly cold. There are no other food choices in the locality but the boat taxi was great and there was plenty of choice in Marmaris. Didn’t really like the entertainment staff pushing their scratch cards, especially at dinner time when people were eating. If they can improve the food then this would be a real 5 star experience.

We had an amazing time the place is still stunning your staff are amazing entertainment is awesome. However being a returning guest ( we could have paid and gone somewhere different but due to waiting and seeing the owners taking back control no where has ever compared to what was perfection so we were so excited) now having revisted there is work to be done . Marmaris bay u r gorgeous but the owner quite frankly needs to provide more staff without killing them off instead of spending money on his £32.000.000 yacht that does not move . It cost me alot of money working my ass off in the UK to return and the minimum I ask is that the new evening dining is not crammed into 2 hours its become a free for all. the poor staff dont have time to speak let alone breath and arriving to there being no tables to sit at is honestly awful. I am a person who doesnt arrive till almost 8.30pm and considering the restaurant shuts at 9pm and the lights get turned off is not acceptable. Your buggy team are killed off and there are not enough buggies to return guests to rooms when me being in 547 I dont mind saying is not ideal to walk in the dark and waiting almost half an hour when you wish to return is not funny at night . The sail bar which is just a stunning view shuts at 6pm which is criminal most people sunbathe until at least 5.30 and the best bar with views shuts some days before 6pm . Truthful reviews it should be manned until at least 7pm . the sun beds not being put along the jetty now before the cabanas entrance massive mistake. Ive holidayed enough at this hotel its THE BEST SPOT of the entire complex sun all day plus the water right in front of you . And lastly the sea salt bar being shut off over the water is disgraceful what a waste . What was the harmony bar and then purple turtle. Being able to sit eat and drink over the water is a special thing to enjoy and relax even if you don't offer food anymore ( thats because your poor staff are over run and not enough ) you could at least offer drinks instead of keeping it closed for a la carte... 3 times whilst I went to the sea salt bar whilst staying with you I got my own cutlery sauces and drinks because the staff were not enough to help me . I am more than happy to do my own things but under TUI BLUE this never happened and we got to know staff personally whom im still friends with . People may jump on and see this and think im harsh but you want feedback this is it when you've been in the past and had perfection this is not it . Once a week sheet and bed changing is not 5 star this used to happen. in your room and the fridges re stocked daily when im paying almost £5000 to go on holiday a can of diet coke put in my fridge daily and water is not to much to ask cleaners bless their heart vacuming and cleaning the pool bar floors when you are trying to relax is not the staffs fault its management who wants a stinky floor cleaner hoovering around you when you are on holiday . Marmaris bay ive loved you but the standards you were due to being tight has let you down .. I wish you all the best for the future the man selling handbags and Hasan Tahsin Günar are a credit to you they are amazing humans
