My family and I have just returned from a 7 day stay at Palm Wings Ephesus. The reason we picked this hotel was for the slides for the kids and there was not one negative review. This is our own personal review. Pros: Exceptionally clean hotel, cleaning staff are excellent, lots of swimming pools and the hotel has its own secluded beach with sun loungers which you do not have to pay for, Bar staff are very friendly. The food by the pool side was exceptional but again only cheese and tomato pizza and chips for vegetarians. Cons: The main gripe is that they do not cater for vegetarians at all. In fact, the food was not labelled for allergens. There was a list of allergens on the entrance but that is no use when choosing your food. There were absolutely no labels on the desserts and there were occasions that there were nuts in them so anyone with a nut allergy would be at risk. For such a large hotel there was only 1 toaster for breakfast creating a long queue. My daughter being a vegetarian lived on rice and chips for lunch and dinner as there was nothing else suitable. No vegetables at night but plenty of vegetables for breakfast??? The plates when finished were taken away very quickly. I am insulin dependent and was happy to drink coke zero, however, my sugar levels were escalating and I could not understand this until I went to get a coke zero and caught the bar staff make the coke zero up with half a glass of water and half as glass of full fat coke. I immediately went to the guest relations lady (Kelly), and she told us that they fun out for a few days. Kelly was incredibly helpful, pleasant, and very polite. The reception was useless. The other main complaint is that the hotel across the cove (TUI Blue hotel) played very very loud music from 8.45pm to midnight and with a laser show. We had a 5-year-old and was in bed and could not sleep through the racket. We struggled as adults as well. We should have been warned by the hotel reception that the side we were on had very loud music (616 and 617). During our stay we had a 6.5 earthquake which woke everyone up. We asked the hotel reception what we do and they were not interested, happens all the time and you can go wait outside was the response. The following night the earthquake was not enough, and they decided to test the fire alarms at 8pm. As this was after the earthquake, we were even more scared, and the fire doors closed on the landing. I have absolutely no problem with testing the fire alarms however, a note by the lift, and other places to warn people that this was going to happen at 8pm. Again, when asking the reception the only response was “test.” I spoke to Kelly who said its unusual for the night as they normally do it during the day and I suggested that they place messages around the hotel to warn people. Not once did any of the animation team comes round to ask children if they wanted to join in. Fact, the only time I saw one animation member was at the bar and only because he had a shirt on saying animation. As it was 2 weeks away from the season ending there was lots of shortages, beer, food, drinks, ice cream the list goes on. Surely, they are aware how many people are due and therefore order accordingly, especially the drinks (whether soft drinks or alcohol). We were unaware on booking that there was nowhere to walk to at night and unless you got a taxi (as dolmus was irregular) which cost 30 euros return (approximately £26 everyday it becomes extremely expensive. We should have been warned that on October 29th is Republic Day in Turkey, a national holiday commemorating the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey on that date in 1923 and that the restaurant would be opening up later due to a staff celebration in front of the restaurant doors, which was closed. We were so looking forward to staying at the hotel but bitterly disappointed with the lack of vegetarian food, lack of drinks, and the booming music from the hotel across the road, lack of communication from hotel reception. Unfortunately, my family and I will not be returning to this hotel.
I've been putting off making this review as I had filed a complaint directly with this hotel regarding the health and safety issue. Unfortunately due to there ignorance and lack of communication i will now leave my review. So as we had already visited this hotel on two previous occasions we was asked to come back by general manager for Halloween. However I was very disappointed this time round after asking if everything was still going to be on entertainment etc I was told yes. The entertainment lacked dramatically there was nothing going on around the pool apart from what was left of the animation on there phones. They sent 2 members of animation home and covered them with someone who was ignorant and rude. They didn't want to do anything for us as guests as it was coming to the end of season. Myself and other people who was there entertained ourselves as there was nothing to do at all. Night time there was not much on. A few nights they put a show on but nothing after that we asked again I made it clear there are still paying customers so they put karaoke on for about half hour nothing to do after that This happend for 4 nights. So a 45 minute show was all we were going to get. Halloween we was really looking forward to it. They did something which was nice but totally lacked from the first show they did and it didn't start to late and only lasted around half hour. They advertised a show and Halloween party but the party lasted 15 minutes then it finished at 10:15 pm. When we was by the pool area the floor was very slippy and I fell which was witnessed by other holidaymakers. I recently had surgery on my wrist and as I fell I tried to protect my wrist from the impact because I had stitches but I hit my other arm which swelled like a golf ball. There was no lifeguard around and neither any wet floor signs, I immediately went to report this but the nurse was trying to get more money out of me when I already had insurance which covered this. I explained what happend and guest relations went to check the area of the pool . I went to emergency hospital where I had a x-ray which showed swelling and bleeding under the skin my arm had bad bruising from it. When I arrived back to the hotel no one had asked anything about how I got on or even made an apology to myself. When we returned to the area where people were who we met there they told us that managers came and put the signs out. The last day of our stay the managers stopped us from eating etc in the afternoon and we had hours to wait for our transfer. We were being followed around and watched. We were having a fantastic time and doing nothing wrong. When I ask about this we were told it was another manager called G****** that stopped this. We were told if we wanted to eat we would have to pay a further 6000 TL . I asked k**** who is reservation manager and operation manager T**** who was acting on behalf of B***** if I could speak to a higher manger. All he said was G****** told us to put this place. T**** Was very rude and said to me your husband can talk Turkish I don't want to speak to you I will speak to him. When my husband spoke to them they then gave us one drink. Still no apology, I'm absolutely shocked and disgusted as we went there 3 times and that's how we got treated. All I say October is a bad time to go don't believe what you see advertised. The entertainment is extremely limited and Halloween is a waste of money. All we wanted was a simple apology nothing more and they couldn't even do that. The restaurant food is also limited for choice aswell. The good things I can only say about this is it has beautiful landscapes, beautiful beaches and the hotel is very clean. There a few nice staff around but to get the full benefit go in the summer months. This review is based on my own review and 100% accurate. The hotel had the options to manage my complaint on numerous occasions and refused. They don't care about accidents or peoples health they care more about money.
We stayed at Palm Wings Ephesus as a family and overall had a really nice time. From the first day, the staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome, which always matters on a family holiday. Our daughter especially loved the pools, the beach and the kids’ activities. She was busy all day and genuinely enjoyed herself, which meant we could relax too. The sandy Pamucak beach is calm and very suitable for children. Food was good with plenty of choice at meals, plus snacks and ice creams during the day. We always found something we liked. The room and public areas were kept clean, and housekeeping was consistent throughout our stay. The location works well for relaxed beach days and short trips to Ephesus. Overall, this is a well-run resort offering good value for money. This review reflects our own personal experience and observations during the stay, and we would happily return as a family.
It was our first holiday abroad this year because of earlier health issues. We love Turkey very much, and the weather looked good, with nice flight times to Izmir, so we booked and chose the Palm Wings Hotel. I'm so glad we did, as the hotel was wonderful. Impressed as soon as we arrived. The staff were very welcoming. The hotel was spotless, and every member of staff was so friendly and obliging. Nothing too much trouble. The first week was on our own, the second week a friend James joined us. We were lucky the first week the weather was exceptional, the second week was good but a little cooler but no less enjoyable. The staff in the restaurant, even though busy always found time to greet you and make you welcome. Sevval especially looked after us at breakfast and lunch and found us a table with little walking distance, as one of us has a walking aid. There was always plenty of choice, sometimes could have done with the food being a little bit hotter. But no way spoiled our stay. The main bar was always a nice place to sit for a drink and chat any time of the day with a very good selection of drinks. Evenings in the bar were always busy but never took long to be served a drink. I remember Hakan as soon as he saw you greeted you with a smile and asked if we were being served. We visited a couple of the à la Carte restaurants, Italian and Turkish both made very enjoyable evenings. Kelly, the Guest Relations Manager was so obliging and helpful with any query. Always had a friendly smile and was a great asset to he hotel.
We travelled as a family of 6 - 3 adults and 3 children (4, 9, 17), we booked 2 rooms which were next to each other, I do think they were interconnecting rooms as there was a door behind the bunk bed that would lead into their room and it wasn't very soundproof. I could hear them talking, laughing, coughing etc so while that didn't bother me at all, had that of been another family I would of asked to move. First impressions were really good and this continued throughout our stay. Food - the only issue I had with the food was the temperature it was never hot, and that really irritated me as I couldn't enjoy it as much as what I would of had it been hot. The chicken in the snack bar is really nice, (better if hot). The wasps are a bit of issue around the snack bar and everyone I closed the lids to the food, other people including the chefs would leave the lids open and the wasps were all over everything. The waffles and ice cream kept the kids happy and they were always fresh and hot, the gozleme next door was always freshly made aswell and nice and hot, very tasty too! There is a wide selection of food, we are a bit of fussy eaters but we always found something. Breakfast there's lots of fruit, pancakes, omelettes, toasties etc, lunch we would always eat at the snack bar and dinner we would usually fill up about 4 from the snack bar as we preferred the food options there. Pizza, chicken, chips. Rice, salads. The times we did eat in the restaurant we had a mixture of lasagne, mash, chips, rice, pasta, breads, chicken nuggets, salads etc there's lots of options for everyone and what you would expect from an all inclusive. We did go to the Italian al la carte and while it was lovely, I wouldn't of paid for it, wasn't anything there for children as they didn't like the chicken nuggets so they both sat there with chips. The kids club and entertainment was great kept the kids entertained and my daughter loved the kids club and dancing. The lifts are a problem, always a long wait for those no matter what time of day. Alcohol and cocktails were good although I'll never understand why they don't serve Malibu in the snack bar (it's a fake version) but do inside the hotel? There is a patisserie in the lobby full of cakes etc (free) but as with most Turkish desserts they all look so tasty until you try them and you don't get much chocolate. I tasted one that tasted awful but was funny, we mostly got them to laugh at each other to see if it was a good taste or bad. We visited kusadasi as we always do to do our yearly shopping. We visited the bazaar/market type place this time and never ever again will I go back, it's terrible, my 19yr old daughter got asked to go into the back with one of the sellers and could he kiss her, just terrible. We didn't get left alone, they lie about they're prices to get you to pick out what you want then tell you a different price, I don't recommend going there, stick to the town shops. All in all we had a great time and would definitely return the small issues hasn't put us off the hotel just think the temperature of food needs looking at as that was a big disappointment for me. Thankyou for a great stay.
