Alp Pasa Hotel

The room was dirty (hair in the shower and on the toilet, dirt in the wardrobe and children's prints on the mirrors, even though we don't have children). We also saw a cockroach in the breakfast area. The fridge stopped working and flooded the room. I called the reception but no one came and I preferred to take the fridge out to the hallway myself as I don't think I came on holiday and watch my room flood or to call the reception countless times hoping someone after hours would come and clean up the water. After spending two hours trying to get help, they finally replaced it but the new fridge was also dirty. There were also misunderstandings with the English of the reception staff when we tried to book a taxi. One day the room was cleaned but they didn't leave us any towels or toilet paper. After calling the front desk twice, we finally had to go there ourselves to get them. The Wi-Fi connection is very poor. One night, a couple was arguing and screaming until 2am and the hotel staff didn't intervene for a long time. The hotel is aesthetically beautiful, but the pool is neglected and smells strongly of chlorine.

This is my second time at this hotel and was nice to see many of the staff were still here and they remembered me from last time. The hotel is beautiful without being too formal and the staff very friendly. Much of it had been restored and preserved from hundreds of years ago and the original stones exist today at the entrance to the courtyard and in the Old Town in general. Ladies, leave your stilettos at home. I learned wedges with thick soles are the best for getting about. I hope to book again soon.

This our second time at this hotel, and again we had a wonderful chilled break. We were in a room with balcony. The room was big, with plenty of wardrobe space for both of us. The bathroom was roomy, with a huge walk in shower. On a less positive note, when the people next door were in their bathroom, we could hear them as loudly as if they were standing next to us. Also, there seems to be a problem with the drainage in there, because quite often there was an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The room was clean however and had all that we needed. Breakfast was good. A wide choice of yoghurt, fruit, veg, bread, Cheeses, omelettes made to order, and lots more. The pool area is beautiful, and the perfect place to chill out. There were a few loose small tiles around the pool, and some areas that could do with being repaired, but overall, it's great. The restaurant affiliated with the hotel is fantastic. A huge menu, great drinks and cocktails, coffees. The food os fantastic, the staff are wonderful. I am sure we'll be back again next year. Thankyou Alp-Pasha for another brilliant holiday

Very disappointing stay. The location in Kaleiçi is excellent, but unfortunately the hotel experience was far below what we expected. We checked into a room with below-average upholstery, broken curtains and an overall substandard level of maintenance. On our first full day, the shampoo and soap dispensers were not working. Despite approximately 10 visits by staff, the issue could not be repaired throughout the day. The next day, once the shampoo dispenser was finally repaired, the hand-wash dispenser stopped working instead. On our third day, we had no electricity in the room, thankfully we had to check out by noon. The breakfast experience was also disappointing. There were no proper coffee machines available; the old machine was dispensing cappuccino, and staff simply told curtly it is what it is. For a hotel marketed as a special-class property, the level of room maintenance and basic facilities was not acceptable in our experience. A beautiful historic location cannot compensate for repeated failures of basic amenities and poor maintenance. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for reliable room facilities, proper maintenance and a comfortable hotel experience.
