Side Su Hotel

CONS- On arrival - very late at night we were sent to the restaurant as we had stated we were all thirsty & hungry from the late travel. (see image) Receptionist was polite, although provided no information apart from room card and a piece of paper for towel collection. The waiter did not speak English and it took a while for him to understand our request for water. None of our group of 3 found the "snack" edible and so went to our room. Our room was not the upgrade we had paid for. We approached reception and were informed they were over booked and would have our room ready for the morning. No information or orientation of the hotel were provided. Breakfast selection is awful. Food is not selective in its choice for British guests in any way Constantly approached by Spa, Tattoo and hair salon staff as you walk to the pool. Cocktails very limited, alcohol used is low grade and full of syrups. Poor alcohol menu for spirits. Red & rose wine disgusting, white wine bearable. 3 pools although only realised there was a 3rd pool, after being there a week. Poolside flooring very slippery when wet. Although we saw the pool guy testing the pool water, we never once saw the pool bed cleaned. Poolside music to loud. Multiple daily requests to turn it down. The "private beach" is 10 min walk and not attached to hotel, including multiple steps and steep slopes. Restricting the less mobile of guests. Seating in reception area is inadequate for the amount of guests. Ice cream snacks - opened for 1 hour daily only. No snack bar at the beach No cushions on poolside loungers No nightly entertainment. 1 "gala" night was on at the front bar - which is in the main street at the bottom of the steps/slopes, which consisted of a DJ that played mainly Turkish and German music. Extremely noisy on -1 floor level No pastry selections - i;e pain au chocolate , croissants etc. Lifts constantly breaking down, but usually repaired quickly. Not great as only 2 lifts, with capacity for 5/6 people max and restaurant is on 5th floor. Separate apartment buildings to side and back of hotel are part of the complex, these are 2- 4 floors without lifts. Stairs only. Snacks from 2-4 are the lunchtime leftovers, served in the restaurant. PRO'S Waiting staff efficient. Work non stop, cleaning, clearing and always polite despite the lack of English language. Housekeeping staff, very hard working. Room always immaculate, beds made, towels replenished etc. Fantastic lady. Food all presented well. Restaurant spotless. Lunch and evening meal selections just about bearable. Can use the spa to shower on departure day. Cake selection is amazing (taste is very similar and overly sweet) BBQ area on selective nights at restaurant, serves, chicken, turkey or pizza, occasional fish. We met multiple guests daily, who stated they were given incorrect rooms on arrival, they too had complaints of the food selection and that were miss-sold a 4* holiday. I just hope they also leave a review and that the hotel acknowledges its downfalls. We viewed the original upgrade room we had paid for - pool /beach view with sofa bed pull-out - please be advised this is a small corner room and definitely not suitable in size for 3 adults (its a sofa chair pull-out, not a sofa bed) with tiny corner balcony. We would not return to this hotel. Complaint letter also being submitted to Tour operator.

Lovely staff. All very helpful, we had a problem with our AC and they came and fixed it within 20 mins. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels. All inclusive is great for selections- beer, wine, cocktails, gin, tequila and whisky all included. All inclusive drinks run from 11am-11pm. You can get drinks after at a price. Free ice cream snack bar from 2:30-3:30. Free water bottles in the fridges at the pools and restocked in your room daily. Good food options and timings attached in a pic below. Vegetarian options are okay-ish but there could be more and there’s no clear labelling of vegan, vegetarian or gluten free (Ve/V/GF) foods. Some of the staff were unsure on if dishes were vegetarian or contained meat, although this may have been a language barrier. Most commonly spoken at the hotel is Polish and German and that seemed to be where most guests were from too. The restaurant itself is up on the 5th floor and the views are something similar to a fancy restaurant. Spa options come at an extra price but the guy offers deals if 2 or more are having a treatments. Massages, Turkish baths, sauna and steam room etc. 2 swimming pools, one is a quiet and relaxing pool and the other has music playing. Pool opening times are 7am - 7pm. They have a water polo game sometimes played in the bigger pool! WiFi is good everywhere in hotel, didn’t face any issues with this at any time. Entertainment nights are Tuesdays and Saturdays at The Wall bar, they then offer a shuttle service to local bar/club - prices for that are not included in all inclusive. Mehmet that works behind the bar is a great staff member, he was very welcoming and enjoyed a dance whilst working behind the bar. The only negatives we encountered were quite minor. The first is the lift system doesn’t really have much system to it. You have to go up to go down most of the time. For example, we got in the lift at the restaurant (floor 5) and pressed to go -3, someone else got out on -2 and someone at the restaurant on floor 5 had pressed for the lift to come. Instead of going down one floor to go to -3, the lift goes back to floor 5 before going back down to -3. It always prioritises going up which is frustrating when staying on the lower floors. Secondly, there were two times we came back to our room and the balcony door had been left open by the cleaner. Not a huge issue as nothing was missing but it caused a bit of a safety worry at the time. And finally, not an issue but I felt our room could have been a bit bigger. It didn’t feel like there was enough space to have 2 open suitcases at once. Would definitely recommend visiting Side Su and we’d definitely come back in the future.

Firstly I'd like to say as a traveller and travel writer I always give balanced reviews. My review is based on what we actually booked to what we actually found. We were allocated a room in what we later found out to be the Golden Daisy Hotel having booked the Side Su. Down in lift down 3 flights of stairs then up 2 flights in the block to reach room. No sheet no water no cups or glasses as if we weren't expected? Door broken so dreadful nights sleep above a noisy bar disco! Room not made up the next day as apparently they only do this occasionally????? Eventually moved to room in main hotel which looked like the picture we had seen online and booked! However we were told no one could help us move our cases back down and up stairs despite being elderly!!! Pool toilets had no paper or soap pool area dirty, staff kids in pool despite being adults only. Pool bar only for staff? Had to go up 3 flights to other pool bar. Food ok restaurant location on top floor beautiful view redeems it. Very few UK guests think they are keener on other markets! Asked for Prosecco and told they don't do it basically it's wine and beer and a few spirits. No daytime entertainment nor did we see any evening entertainment but that's not a problem for us but may be for anyone booking and expecting this. Restaurant and bar staff are lovely Manager was rude and personally Would not recommend or return The Spa however is excellent and well run. Side itself is beautiful and well worth visiting this was our 5th visit but the last to this hotel!

To begin with I always post a good honest review in my own opinion as to where we have been or stayed. Arrived 7.09.26 allocated room no. 7003 - please be aware that this room was in Golden Daisy Hotel block, hence the Wi-Fi code was @daisy 1453.13, I believe Side Su are using this as an “over spill” on their bookings. Room no. 7003 was a sub standard room, with no bed linen, drinking water, no shower gel, it just hadn’t been serviced properly, it bore no resemblance at all to the pictures on the website of Side Su (please see attached photos). If you are allocated any rooms numbers beginning with 7101 - 7104 please be aware that there are loads to steps to these rooms. Obviously, we complained and then was allocated room no. 1502 in Side Su Hotel. This room was just like on the photos but however, if you are allocated this room you need to know that it’s right next to the lift and the loading bay so it’s in a very noisy, busy location throughout the day and night. We could not sleep for the sound of machinery, staff chatting etc. (also rooms 1501 and 1503 are very noisy due to there location). again we were moved to room no. 1510 - this room was absolutely fine. Foods was of a good standard, but very repetitive. Hotel was clean and tidy at the Side Su, It does have a private beach but again the sun bed cushions are plastic and very thin. We would really recommend this hotel hence we would stay here again.

Disappointing stay at Side Su Hotel This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. The hotel was advertised as a 4-star, beachfront, adults-only, all-inclusive property, but our experience didn’t match those claims. It felt closer to a 3-star hotel, and the beach was about a 10-minute walk away, down around 65 steps. Children were allowed to swim in the pools, despite the adults-only description. The food was very poor, and there was no allergen information displayed on the food. The all-inclusive offering was disappointing: there was just one restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, no poolside snacks, and ice cream was only available from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. On arrival, we were placed in an overflow hotel rather than the main building. Our room was up around 35 steps. After we complained, we were moved to the main hotel the following morning. We also saw trolleys left in the corridors. Staff were allowed to cook around the pool at the second bar, but we weren’t allowed to have drinks there. Some staff members were very friendly, but we found the management rude and unhelpful. When we complained to the manager, he walked away, saying, “If you don’t like the hotel, don’t come back!” Overall, it was not worth the money and did not live up to its advertised description. We won’t be coming back.
