I recently stayed at Wyndham Old City Hotel Istanbul and unfortunately my experience was quite disappointing. We booked a room for three adults, but upon arrival the room was only set up for two people. We had to wait while staff converted the sofa into a bed, which wasn’t ideal after a long journey. Even after that, the room amenities were only provided for two guests—two bottles of water and two cups—which felt careless given our booking. The room itself was very dark, with no proper windows or natural daylight, making it feel quite enclosed and uncomfortable. The air conditioning was not working, and despite calling twice, the issue wasn’t properly resolved—they eventually gave us a fan instead, which is not what you expect from a hotel of this standard. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. Each day they would leave towels for only two people, and we repeatedly had to call reception to request additional towels for the third guest. Overall, the room felt very outdated and poorly maintained. The experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the brand and pricing. I hope the hotel improves its attention to detail and guest comfort in the future.

I have traveled extensively on business and pleasure. I have stayed in great hotels and Bed & Breakfasts in not always the most salubrious locations but this one takes the biscuit. The hotel is not 5 star at best 2 star. The rooms are tiny. You could not swing a cat in it. You cant open the window as it hits the bed. You cant store your case as there is no room. There were many things broken or in a state of disrepair in the room. The room we were in was part of a series of connected rooms which had doors covering the main room door so you only had half a door to exit from if there was an emergency. These were simple click on latches but you would think I had asked for the whole hotel to be rebuilt when I asked for this to be taken off so I could exit the room safely. The towels feel old and thin and more like something you would use to dry your dog with. The spa bath in the room didn’t work and they made no attempt to repair this or change our room The reception staff were rude when I insisted on staying at the desk when they checked my passports. The pool downstairs does not open until 10am and shuts at 8pm so you cant have a swim before breakfast. The pool area has lots of broken bits and pieces. The steps are broken to the pool. The changing rooms have no locks on cupboards. Now breakfast was an experience I only attempted on the first day and then gave up. It was like being in the Grand Bazaar. Absolute chaos and no spaces to sit down at to eat breakfast. My advice there are many better hotels for the same or less do not be fooled by the photos the hotel looks nothing like this. This hotel is a fake. Do not believe it is a Wyndham.

This hotel was absolutely rubbish. The rooms had no ventilation whatsoever and the staff were horrible especially to women, dismissing complaints and telling us to get out and leave if we did not resonate with the service we were getting. Honestly save yourself some money because this hotel is a waste of time. I missed breakfast most mornings because it was revolting and originally my room was below a bar which had loud thumping music. When asking for a room change staff were horrible towards us. Do not come or you will suffer.
