Smart Holiday Hotel Bodrum

This was the worst hotel I have stayed in my whole 32 years of living. Spy holes in the entrance doors facing the bathroom. Unsecured electrical wires, unsecured lighting hanging from ceiling, bathroom fixtures covered in limescale and filthy drains which smelt every night. Rubbish left in bin and under and side of bed, holes in floor, dirty terrace and bedroom furniture, dirty matress left outside of room with dirty plate hidden behind, dirty pillow cases (did not use towels provided by hotel due to health concerns) draws missing from bedside table, dirty storage cupboard left open outside room, cracks in wall, dirty entrance to room and the list goes on. The pictures advertised of this hotel were completely inaccurate and untrue. I cried in the first night as I was so disappointed in myself for not seeing this coming. I had briefly checked the reviews prior to travelling and none detailed what we experienced. Hotel staff were all young boys, not in uniform and not able to address the above issues in a professional manner. Disgusting hotel, avoid avoid avoid.

The worst hotel ever. Greasy plates and cutlery, disgusting food! No soap refilled in the bathroom, dirty shower. Damaged doors. Safe not working. The common areas of the hotel were dirty, trash everywhere. The hotel needs a complete renovation and a replacement of the staff.

We've just got back home. We have had a nice holiday. But there are a lot of issues with the hotel. It's supposed to be a 4*. We all agreed it was more of a 2*. It's a hotel for Turkish people on holiday. The guests and staff don't really like British there. We had 2 other British families there who were lovely but the vast majority of Turkish people in the hotel saw us as aliens 😅. Our room was a family room and we booked 5 beds. On arrival we had 4 beds. It took a whole day of me continually asking for our bed for us to get one. It was 24 hours exactly. That first day was a washout as I had to keep going to reception and getting ignored over and over again. The manager was very rude and told me they don't do 5 beds in the hotel at all. We had to ring the emergency line for the tour rep to get help. The room was filthy and tatty. Not like in the pictures at all. The food was the same every day. It was nice but very repetitive. But we always found something to eat. Unfortunately the play area for kids is a no go area as there's an overwhelming smell of sewage. The pool area is lovely but extremely deep so you have to take care with children. The water slide mini pool is also a no go area as there's a broken window at head height with broken glass. I didn't trust it. There are a lot of steps but that didn't bother us and we still had a really good holiday. But I would definitely lower your expectations especially of the rooms. A lot of loose wires everywhere. Oh and unfortunately in the restaurant we got electric shocks most days for the electric salad bar cooler and dessert cooler. We reported that over and over again but nothing was done. It's quite large shocks you receive that numb your fingers 🫣. The beach is 10 minutes away and lovely but there's no private beach so we had to buy a drink in a bar to be able to use the sunbeds. The children really enjoyed themselves and we spent a lot of time at the pool. But we would not return or recommend unfortunately. We've been to Turkey before but it was a much better experience elsewhere. Gumbet is lovely and lively and a beautiful place though. There is no WiFi in the rooms and only the tiniest patchy bit in the pool area. I really would not recommend this hotel.
