We have been to a few different hotels in Marmaris and was wanting something a little cheaper as our usual places prices were sky high so we decided on Golden Rock. The hotel itself is in a great place on the beach front with plenty restraunts and shops outside, a coffee shop next door and their own private section of the beach. The communal areas inc reception, pool, restaurant and everywhere else are spotlessly clean as are the rooms. There is always someone cleaning! The entertainment team are great and really made our holiday. Big thanks to Lera and the gang (sorry we didn’t get or remember everyone’s names). They are absolute assets to the hotel. John Wicky at the pool bar is also an absolute legend and lovely man (as are the staff that work on the lobby bar). Guest relations are always happy to help and did so with getting a mattress topper for the bed. A few minor gripes though, two members of staff need speaking to. First off there is Salah who was harassing our friend’s 21 year old daughter, pouring cold bottled water on her back, pulling out her headphones, calling her his wife and touching her feet and thighs. That is really out of line. Then there is Erral at the bar in the restaurant (man with the glasses), he kept telling me to go and get served at the pool bar for some reason and was really aggressive with it but the thing that really got me was he was making inappropriate comments to my wife about meeting him when he finished and he kept grabbing her arms and hands not letting her leave the bar. Once again extremely creepy and out of line. Food generally was decent but suffers the same as most A.I resorts where once you have been there a week or so it all starts getting a bit samey. You can always find something though even if it is something with pasta/rice or chips. The beds really caused my sciatica to fire and both me and my wife struggled to get a good nights sleep die to lower back pain. This was even after a mattress topper was supplied unfortunately. We were in room 110 which was ideal for us given my wife’s mobility problems. The room was a little dated but functional and the fridge worked just fine as did the kettle. We did find that having to pay for English channels on the TV a bit irksome given there were plenty Russian channels as well as local but you cannot enable subtitles as the menu’s were locked out - most A.I resorts we have been to include a selection of English channels not just 2 news channels. An issue that we found really annoying is the sun beds. The right side and usually bottom of the pool all the beds were reserved before 6am. Most days over 50 of said beds would still be empty and not used by 2pm. This is really unfair on the other guests and needs addressing. If the beds aren’t occupied by say 10am then collect all the towels and put them in a hamper by the pool bar or in reception. Finally a full available drinks list would be handy beside each bar. We believed that only Vodka & Gin were available but near the end of the holiday other guests told us other items were available. I would also say you need white rum so guests can get Mojito, Pina Colada and also do Black/White Russian - these are always a cocktail staple at many hotels worldwide. A small positive is the small store in the hotel is cheap which is really handy as some hotels we have been to (like Club Turban as an example) the onsite shop is usually way overpriced. Overall we did have a nice relaxing holiday but don’t think we would proactively look at returning to Golden Rock in the near future. However for a cheap break it is ideal.
He's finally back!!!🙏🙏🙏 This is the best news for our long-time and beloved guests: our General Manager is back! I know you've been waiting for this news :) The hotel opens its doors for the new 2026 season on April 15th. We look forward to seeing you, our dear guests.❤️❤️❤️
There's a jewelry shop in the Golden Rock which has been there for many years. The shop is very established and the staff there have a great knowledge of diamonds and gold. Arran is the manager who is very welcoming and pleasant. I bought from this shop for many years and have gifts for my loved ones. However did you know that when you purchase a ring from Arran to also get a care package which consists of cleaning your ring 💍 for free. Every year that I holiday in the hotel I out my jewelry in the shop and Arran returns them to me like new. To clean a diamond ring back home can be expensive so take advantage of opportunity. It's a real bargain
The hotel was an average experience suddenly not five star. The Wi-Fi was nearly non-existent, the cocktail and all-inclusive drink options were very poor. Food quality was inconsistent a lot maintained at high temperature. UKTV channels were available if you was willing to pay extra. Snuck bar very Limited and ice cream is only available after 3 pm for two hours. Pool was small and freezing cold so no one really used it. Overall average experience and definitely more of a 3* experience.
All in all a lovely hotel. We had a seaview room on the corner of the hotel which was absolutely massive, the view was out of this world.Usual problems with sunbed pirates same people everyday if somebody could find a solution and stick to it i would return every year. The hotel had entertainment every night which was good. The only real gripe was the food most of the time its just about luke warm it was just edible and a few times ate out, i have visited Turkey quite a lot and would say this was the worst food ive come across.Shame becuase everything else was good.
