ROBINSON NAM HOI AN

While we knew the resort was located far from nearby towns and attractions, we did not expect such limited availability of basic conveniences on-site. Even simple items such as snacks or everyday supplies were difficult to find. There is a small shop outside the main gate, but many guests may feel uncomfortable relying on it. Surprisingly, room service does not offer common options such as hamburgers or pizza, despite pizza being available in the resort restaurant. If you come late and want to eat something after 21:30 you create a problem to the reception because the room service is closed at that time The lack of amenities became a recurring theme throughout our stay. When we tried to book a massage at the spa, all appointments were fully booked until our departure. Water sports activities were unavailable, and even basic recreational equipment was lacking—reception could not provide a ping-pong ball. Evening activities were also less enjoyable due to the absence of fans or ventilation in the outdoor areas, making them uncomfortably hot. At the beach, many sunbeds were reserved with hotel towels and remained unused for most of the day, limiting availability for other guests. We also found little value in purchasing half-board or full-board packages, as access control appeared minimal and staff rarely checked room numbers. Similarly, security at the resort entrance seemed very relaxed. German appeared to be the dominant language throughout the resort, which may make German-speaking guests feel particularly welcome, although the guest population is more diverse. Overall, the atmosphere felt somewhat uninspired, and while activities were listed in the resort app, none seemed especially appealing to us. This property does not currently deliver what we would consider a five-star experience. Expectations should be adjusted accordingly, especially for travelers familiar with international luxury standards. Guests are limited to five small bottles of water per room per day, although refill stations are available at the restaurant and reception. Since these locations were about a 15-minute walk from our room, this was often inconvenient. The minibar was completely empty, so guests should not expect in-room refreshments. The most positive aspect of our stay—and something we experienced throughout Vietnam—was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They were consistently helpful and courteous, even when explaining that certain services or amenities were unavailable. Here we expected too much from the brand Robinson which is clearly not that what it was before. Our frustration is not to the staff it is to the management of this brand.

We are currently staying at this hotel and there are a number of things that concern me with this hotel. I will start with a positive thought. The rooms are outstanding, very clean and comfortable. They are spacious and are relatively new, very impressive. Unfortunately, this is where it stops. This hotel was sold to us by a consultant at luxury escapes as being close to Hoi An. Unfortunately, it has taken us over an hour to drive here from Hoi An but luxury escapes has deemed this close by, extremely disappointed by our treatment from them so just a word of advice ask for full disclosure on every aspect of your booking when dealing with a consultant. This hotel is sold as an all inclusive 5 star resort which its most definitely not. The grounds are overrun with weeds and the grass is long and unkept. The food is buffet style which is more like a huge cafeteria and the hot food is consistently cold. It is very westernised and accommodates for the German and European clientele. Even the water aerobics lesson was spoken in German. The restaurant has very limited opening hours and I’m not sure if you had children or are maybe a little older and like to eat your dinner before 7pm. Breakfast doesn’t open until 7:30am and for early risers that may not suit you. Bar staff will serve the Europeans first and are very abrupt when they do eventually get to you. There is no bar service around the pool which is disappointing and definitely not what you should receive in a 5 star resort. As an Australian I would be very hesitant to book this hotel as I do think we have certain expectations when paying top dollar. So disappointed that we will be checking out early as we can’t get any of the tour operators to pick us up from this far away. Tried to book a day trip banh ma mountains at the front desk quoted us $215 USD per person! Crazy

I arrived last night and staying for 6 nights. Friday can’t come quick enough for me. Pros. The room is clean and comfortable. The gym is well equipped. But that’s about it Cons. It’s supposed to be all inclusive but everything is very limited. Lunch was a disappointment not much Vietnamese food. No spare seats at the pool because people hog them leaving things on them then leave. And the classes at the pool don’t cater to you unless you speak German. The noise at night from music when you’re trying to sleep is unbearable If I could get a refund I would leave now. I ve stayed at a lot of resorts in the last 10 years and this is disappointing. One Aussie that won’t be back.

Our stay at Robinson Nam Hoi An in Vietnam was absolutely amazing. We spent 10 wonderful days there and felt comfortable and welcome from the very first moment. The entire resort is beautifully and the rooms are modern, stylish, and perfect for relaxing. We especially enjoyed the calm and peaceful atmosphere around the club. Except for the Vietnamese holidays, the resort was relatively quiet, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The guests were also very pleasant and friendly. The evening entertainment was fantastic every single day. The shows were professional, varied, and full of energy. A special mention goes to Utku, the Entertainment Supervisor, who did an outstanding job together with his team. He always had everything under control and created a great atmosphere with his speeches during the evening shows and events. Lera & Paul were also incredible on stage – their energy and passion were amazing to watch and made every performance even more enjoyable. The food experience was excellent as well. Executive Chef Nils managed the kitchen and restaurant perfectly, and you could really see how much passion and professionalism he puts into his work. Everything was well organized and of very high quality. Dung, the Food & Beverage Manager, also did a fantastic job and contributed greatly to the overall experience. From the very beginning, Dong & Jason from the Front Office Management welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home immediately. We would especially like to thank Tobi from the Front Office, who made our stay truly special - for us, he was simply the best. The three of them impressed us with their attentiveness, friendliness, and exceptional service. We also appreciated Okan, the General Manager, who was always present, close to the guests, and genuinely friendly. You could clearly feel that guest satisfaction was very important to him. Eva brightened every day with her warm, talkative, and cheerful personality. Lena & Emma from Guest Relations gave us a lovely club tour and made us feel very welcome from the start. Another highlight was the Vietnamese coffee class with May Linh, who shared her knowledge with so much charm and kindness. Aravinda also deserves special recognition for his warm welcome and for creating such a great atmosphere as a DJ during the evenings. We can definitely recommend Robinson Nam Hoi An and would love to come back again. For everyone we could not mention by name, please note that you are also included in our gratitude. Pros: gorgeous quiet beach, great pools. Good bread. Cons: owned by large German company, does not offer ala carte in the non air conditioned restaurant, forced to order the buffet which is very western (no pricing listed anywhere until you get a bill). The room service menu is apparently on the app, but was unable to see it. We tried to venture to the local village to get seafood, and was discouraged by the staff and then quoted a very expensive cab ride for 2km trip.
