Canary Nungwi Hotel & Spa

My sister, friend and I booked a triple suite at Canary Hotel and Spa. We arrived very late at night after completing our 3 day safari in Serengeti national park and the Ngorongoro conservation area. We were warmly greeted by Denis on reception who took all our luggage up to our room and explained everything. Unfortunately we encountered a couple of problems in that particular room which we reported to Denis. The manager Muhammed was also present and they both immediately set out to address our needs. Cleaners were called upon to prepare two last minute rooms for us just so we could sleep the night as they could see we were very tired after our long journey. The following day they had a different triple suite ready for us which we were very grateful for. The hospitality the staff offered, from the reception, to the dining area, the Choum tours guys, the cleaning staff, even the security guards, was simply heartwarming. Everyone always carried a smile, they were always very pleasant and friendly, always asking us how we were and if we needed anything. We even had the operational manager approach my sister and ask how our stay was and to let him know personally if we needed anything. I very much enjoyed our stay here. Even though we didn't make full use of everything this hotel has to offer as we were always out, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient location to stay. It's actually the staff that make this hotel such a great place.

General manager completely incompetent, put pressure on me to pay twice although I showed confirmation of payment (booked via bedsonline on booking.com app!) Take care

So amazing hotel with charming staff, rooms are so good and good at the restaurant was so amazing, we promise to come back to Canary hotel when we will be in Zanzibar

Hotel is run down and needs a lot of maintenance , bathroom terrible , see pic , damp on walls , rooms are nothing like they look on the website , smell damp , locks on door broken , air conditioning didn’t work and when reception was told nothing was done , breakfast terrible mash potatoes and veg , so v limited . Tv in room wouldn’t work even though was connected to WiFi . Very pushy person in reception, trying sell overpriced tours … do not recommend
