Dream of Zanzibar

My stay at Dream of Zanzibar was amazing! The hotel is beautiful, clean, with delicious food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would especially like to thank RAHMA a wonderful young woman full of kindness, warmth, and professionalism. She truly cares about guests and makes everyone feel special. Thanks to her, my stay was unforgettable. Highly recommend this place – a true paradise on Zanzibar.

The hospitality, host, and housekeeping have been beyond phenomenal during my solo stay at Dream of Zanzibar Resort & Spa. Everything and everyone has been exceptional, and I am looking forward to returning soon. Utmost thanks for making my birthday holiday a memorable experience, Rahma. You are truly divine.

We have just recently returned from in total an eight night stay at this hotel - 4 nights then safari in Tanzania, then returned for another 4 nights. On our first 4 nights we upgraded to an ocean view room which in all honesty was not worth the money we paid. We had no hot water in the shower for almost 3 days and looked right on to the pool area as it was on the ground floor. We just thought the garden room was much nicer. All that aside this hotel is lovely. It is so peaceful and the beach is beautiful. The food is all buffet but really good quality. It only has the one restaurant which is a bit a shame as I think a change from the buffet would be good when staying at the hotel for any length of time. I think the most outstanding feature of this hotel is the staff. They are all so pleasant, smiley and can't do enough to help the guests whether you are lounging by the pool, in the restaurant or having a drink in the bar. I would specifically like to mention Happyness Stephen. She was very professional but friendly and attentive at the same time. She never failed to make us smile and brightened up the restaurant whenever she was around. Her sense of humour was great, as is her English. She is a credit to the hotel and I hope she is encouraged to progress in her career as I’m sure she is capable of much more. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful break then this is the place. I would recommend a walk down the beach to the local traders. They don’t have a lot to offer but are really appreciative of whatever few dollars you spend with them. Big tip - Take US dollars with you as they all seem to prefer cash.

The staff at this hotel are so friendly and attentive they go out of their way to look after you. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are large and comfortable. The pool area looks out to sea with a number of comfortable beds and towels. We spent many a happy hour chilling out in this very peaceful environment. Perfect if you like somewhere quiet with not huge amounts going on and off the beaten track on the East coast of the island. The north is more lively. The food and drinks are plentiful with a great range of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. We particularly enjoyed the fresh ginger tea to add a bit of zing to lunch. Day trips can be organised on site, not the cheapest but worth doing. Our Secret Escapes package included a safari to Nyerere NP. Seamlessly organised and expertly delivered by our guide, Frank who was a wealth of knowledge and nurtured a sense of safety. He made our safari so much fun and we will be forever grateful to him and all of the beach safari staff for making for our stay so very special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The rooms and environment are nice. All the attendants were fantastic and friendly. Rahma is one of the attendants that I can quickly remember.
