Jambo, We've just got home from a fabulous 2 week holiday staying at Matemwe attitude. We booked this hotel last summer before the hotel opened. So I'm so glad that it was above and beyond what we expected. The hotel is small and adults only, which is what we look for when booking holidays. Sustainability is a major priority of the hotel. We enjoyed the shop and filling up our mini fridge with items we wanted. We were all inclusive, staying in a shared pool swim up bungalow. The bungalow was beautiful. The majority of the rooms are all facing the east, so the outdoor space would be in the shade after lunch. We tended to spend our days around the main pool area. The food in the hotel was great. We enjoyed the lunch menus in Fukwe and Upepo as a change to the buffet in the main restaurant. We enjoyed the traditional Swahili food on the evenings in the buffet. The all inclusive drinks are great, made with care and real fruit juices. The house wines were delicious. There are supplement drink options for branded spirits/additional wines/cocktails, but we just had the included drinks as they were great. We always got snacks with the drinks in the evenings. There are events on through the day and we participated in the Swahili class, basket weaving, aqua gym and the cookery class. The evening entertainment was great and on a Monday they had a drinks/canapé reception to meet the hotel managers. All hotel information/activities/menus were available via a QR code. The hotel is spotless, very clean and the gardens are lovely. The staff are all amazing. Management should be proud of all of their team. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Always smiling and will do anything for you. It's impossible to mention everyone but the following people were amazing during our stay: -Masemo, Martha , Ibrahim from guest relations. -Saggio, Dai from the entertainment team -Pastory, Lilian , Amina , Abdi, Jumanne, Alice in the restaurants -Allen, Victoria, Abasi, Najama from the bar The wind picks up a bit in the evenings (we stayed during October), so I'd bring a wrap or a cardigan if dining at the Fukwe restaurant in the evening. The only negative thing - which is no fault of the hotel. Is that the beach isn't private. So if you want to go in the sea the local people will approach you to buy items/excursions. Thank you Matemwe attitude for an amazing holiday in your beautiful hotel from the couple staying in salasini na tatu
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable 8-Night Return to Zanzibar Paradise! Returning to Zanzibar and the Mnemba area after 12 years was a dream, and staying at Matemwe Attitude exceeded every single expectation. It was the ultimate tropical escape, but what truly makes this resort extra special is the incredible team—the staff are simply out of this world! A very special mention must go to: Ashura, our room attendant in Seaside Villa No. 2, for creating a true home away from home with her thoughtful care. Rahma, the sweetest waitress with such a sparkling personality that brightened every meal. Penda, for her warmth, friendliness, and truly kind soul. Allan, the bar manager at Upendo Bar, for his outstanding hospitality and exceptional service throughout our stay. Thobias, a lovely bartender who was always so friendly and welcoming. The resort itself is absolute bliss, offering the perfect serene, barefoot-luxury atmosphere. Spending our days lounging by the pool, soaking in the views, and booking seamless diving trips out to Mnemba Atoll made for an incredible trip. To top it all off, the spa was amazing—pure relaxation from start to finish! Having fresh, delicious food with ocean views every day made our 8 nights feel like the perfect amount of time to slow down and recharge. We were so sad to leave, but after such a memorable stay, we will definitely be back sooner next time!
We could not recommended this hotel enough. The effort of all staff to go over and beyond for us was apparent. With excellent food, drink and activities, our 10 day stay still wasn't long enough!
