Lifts are the problem! Just 2 out of 3 lifts worked for the whole duration of stay, periodically worked only one! That created usual queues and long time to wait for a lift, or using the steps. I wish more power in water pressure in the shower! Also too hot water at the beach water tap to wash legs from the sand, the water may cause your skin burn! It should be of 20-25 degrees, not more. Also the pressure in the beach water tap is low, so it does not really removes sand from legs. The all staff is just great, bar is fine! Rooms are cleaned in a very good way! The beach is amazing, all other beaches around lack palms, etc. The water bar is awesome, seems the only one for miles around!

We stayed at Riu Jambo for 6 nights, 13 to 20 Jan 2026. Booked joined Riu Class and booked directly on Riu website, superior deluxe seafacing room. Checked in online. Arrived at the hotel and was checked in on my wife's name. Got to our room and it overlooked a huge black roof. All you could see was tteetops and water. Called reception to request a room change and was asked if I booked on bookings.com, lol, funny question. The room was very good except that the basin tap was loose, the air-conditioning was not working very well. Room was 26°. We complained to reception and we're told they will call back, and never did. I called and asked to speak with a manager and "he is busy with a guest, will call back". We soon realized, when they say they will call back they never do. We struggled in this hot room and had the most uncomfortable sleep. The housekeeping manager came after 4 days, said he will send maintenance, maintenance said they fixed it, it even dropped to 24° the one day for an hour and back to being a sauna. Maintenance manager came after 5 days and they decide to change our room but only at 15:00 on the last night of our stay, adding insult to injury. No apology, not even at check out. Dont accept room 2202, we don't believe the AC went on the blink the day we checked in. It had to be faulty, hence they couldn't fix it. The food at Maisha was good day 1 but copy and paste for the rest of your stay. Only 1 main would be changed every day. The buffet is huge and you will find something to eat. Boring, bland, please add some spicy food to the buffet. We tried Yanan, copy and paste Maisha just add sushi. We were unable to get reservations at the other 2 restaurants, always fully booked !!!!!! The staff are very friendly and get 5 stars, especially Hamad and William at Maisha, except staff and management of reception and maintenance who get zero stars. Facilities are very good, except for the spa, the steam room doesn't have a light, welcome to the darkness, you need to search for the seating. Beach is wonderful soft sand and water is fantastic. Lots of vendors but it can be managed. It's impossible to find a lounger if you dont go early and place some belongings on it, the sign says no reserving of loungers but people put a towel and leave there even if they not for long periods of the day. The entertainment is good but can become monotonous after a few days. Would I go again, maybe to Zanzibar but definitely not to Riu Jambo.

Our stay at Hotel Riu Jambo was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the friendly and professional staff, who were always smiling and ready to help. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and very clean. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The beach is stunning – white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and plenty of sunbeds, creating the perfect tropical atmosphere.
