Sunshine Marine Lodge

We had a lovely stay at Sunshine Marine Lodge. The location in Matemwe is stunning, with beautiful ocean views and a very peaceful atmosphere. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was fresh and tasty. Special thanks to Hassan at the front desk for being so helpful and welcoming, and to Saeed in the restaurant for his excellent service and warm attitude — they truly made our stay even better. A perfect place to relax and enjoy Zanzibar. Highly recommended!

Hotel is nice, but some of the staff aren’t very talkative and doesn’t look happy. We didn’t know that the area is so far away from everything and got little bit disappointed by that. There is no any mini market or tourist shops near to the hotel. Everytime you need some snacks or any other stuff (like pharmacy) you need to get taxi or some other ride to the nearest town (about 5-6km away). Hotel doesn’t have own beach where you can swim, so you need to go to the another hotel if you like to go to ocean. Hotel can arrange you to another hotel for free.

This hotel is a very beautiful place on the east side of Zanzibar. Its Architecture is beautifully integrated into nature and the stuff is very friendly and helpful. Bahati and all people working there are just fun and it's great beeing with them. We enjoyed the beautiful and very clean room the cocktails and the food a lot! A place to come back! Best place in the world. We have met some of the best friends here including waiters and bartenders like Daniel, Saidi, Irene and James as well as the guides and instructors from Divepoint. If you have any kind of problem or question guys from reception will help you with all power. Incredible views, best accomodation possible. Rooms are spacious and comfy. Place is so clean that you can eat from the floor. Every time you walk to a restaurant or pool you walk trough an amazing garden with beautiful and lovely cats. I would love to come back here one day and I hope I will.

The Sunshine group has 3 sister hotels (Azure Sunshime, Sunshine Bay and Sunshine Marine lodge) and an excellent 5☆Padi Duvecenter DivePoint. We have stayed in both Azure Sunshine and Sunshine.Marine Lodge and have done 14 wonderfull dives with DivePoint. The Sunshine Marine.Lodge has a grrat location. Opposite of the Mnemba Atoll and island. THE number one place to dive and snorkel in Zanzibar. The resort is situated in a very nice and well maintained garden. We had room number 2 that is sutuated direct on the ocean with stunning jawdropping view from the balcony. The rooms are not like in so many hotels square boxes, but very comfortable well designed rooms. A room like this you will remember positive the rest of your life. There is plenty of space to store your stuff. As a diver you have lot of things with you. We had no problem finding place to store them. Ofcourse you have a airco and a ceilingfan. A great big soft bed with a.great working klamboe/mosquitonet. There is coffee/tea facilities and a refrigirator. Drinking water is provided. Everyrhing is spotless clean. Staff is very helpfull and professional. Breakfast (buffet) is nice and the food for diner is wel prepared and tastefull. There is NO beach at this resort. There are two pools. BEST is the onsite 5☆ Padi Divecenter DivePoint. Make sure you go snorkel or dive with them. They are THE best.
