Our group of eight close friends (four couples) recently concluded an unforgettable—but exhausting—Tanzanian safari with a stay at The Mora in Zanzibar. After weeks of navigating rough roads, discovering this resort was the ultimate reward. We had meticulously researched several five-star properties in Zanzibar before booking, and The Mora did not just meet our high expectations—it completely shattered them. From the moment we arrived, the accommodations blew us away. The rooms are incredibly spacious, thoughtfully designed, and anchored by a spectacular in-room jacuzzi tub overlooking the Indian Ocean. The bathrooms are equally luxurious, featuring massive rainfall showers, separate toilet and bidet areas, dual vanities, and plush robes and slippers that made every evening feel like a spa retreat. The resort’s amenities are truly world-class, encompassing a top-tier spa, gym, vibrant bars, excellent recreational facilities, and even a private dive shop. I can personally attest that a Thai massage at their pristine spa is the definitive cure for safari fatigue. While the hardware of this resort is undeniably five-star, the heart of The Mora lies in its six-star service. The culinary program is nothing short of spectacular. We dined at all four restaurants, including the buffet, and every single dish was a masterclass in flavor, cooked to absolute perfection. What truly sets the dining apart, however, is the people. The chefs and servers made it their personal mission to ensure our group was delighted, taking the time to listen to our preferences and executing them flawlessly. This culture of excellence clearly trickles down from the top. We had the pleasure of meeting several senior leaders whose hands-on leadership sets a beautiful example for the entire property. Each of these professionals possesses a rare, genuine ability to listen, show empathy, and care for guests with a level of hospitality that felt deeply personal. A standout highlight of our trip was an unexpected, behind-the-scenes masterclass with Sagar Stanly (Assistant F&B Manager). He went entirely out of his way to show us how the resort crafts its own signature cocktail mixers using locally sourced, organic ingredients. This interactive demonstration showed us the precise art behind their fantastic drinks and highlighted the resort's impressive commitment to sustainability. To top it off, Mr. Stanly surprised us all with a thoughtful token at the end—a final, beautiful gesture that perfectly encapsulates The Mora's obsession with guest satisfaction. If you are looking for an unbiased recommendation for Zanzibar, look no further. The Mora is a masterclass in hospitality. The staff is amazing,food at the restaurant is good,we had the room with the Seaview clean room,many attractions we visited stone town just one day before our flight home,Kesi at the front desk arranged for us local taxi for the tour and the price was reasonably compared to the one we saw on the hotel app. Everyone friendly,warm and helpful.Zanzibar hakuna matata!

The Mora staff were outstanding. Always smiling and anticipatory of guest needs. The hotel room, beach and pools exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning one day.
