Melia Sunny Beach

Our last day here at Melia and we've had a great stay regardless of the weather. Good points: Overall great all inclusive, plenty of good options the route 66 food is definitely worth trying very good selection. Main food and drinks good 👍 Hotel room (we had a pool view) great size, fridge ideal, great balcony. The Indian was worth a visit, buffet style which we preferred, really tasty. Great idea with the chip in the wristbands for entering the rooms and also the side entrance to the shops. Location perfect, literally shops, bars, restaurants, beach on the doorstep. Get the bus to nessebar old town less than 8 euro return for both. Or get a taxi average price 10 euro 1 way. Coffee machine/water dispenser on each floor which we make lots of use of. We've opted to keep the room on for late checkout 35 euro until 4pm or 45 after 4pm worth it if you've got a late flight. Overall great stay, unfortunately can't comment on the pool area as it wasn't warm enough but everywhere was well kept and clean.

We have had a fantastic stay at Meliá Sunny Beach and honestly could not have asked for more. We booked two rooms for two people through two different agencies because we had different packages. Before arriving, I contacted the hotel and politely asked if there was any possibility of having our two rooms located close together, as we were travelling as a family. The hotel responded very politely and professionally, which already gave us a great impression. When we arrived, the reception staff were absolutely lovely. We were so pleasantly surprised to be told that the hotel had upgraded our two rooms and allocated them in a beautiful area with a really lovely view. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and in a fantastic location. We truly appreciated this kind gesture from the management. All the staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, and they always tried their best to help whenever we needed anything. I would especially like to mention Michaela, the hotel manager. She was extremely professional, friendly and approachable, and we really appreciated the way she dealt with guests. She is a great credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is fantastic. There is so much space and so much to do. It is very close to the beach and within easy walking distance of the main Sunny Beach area. There are several pools and plenty of activities, so you really never feel bored. The animation team were excellent too. They were very friendly, energetic and welcoming, with lots of activities throughout the day. There is always something you can get involved in if you want to. The food was also excellent, with a very good choice. During our stay we mainly used the main restaurant and the Indian restaurant. We were told that some of the other restaurants close after 15 September, but this was absolutely fine because there was still plenty of food and plenty of choice available. Sadly, we are leaving today, and we are genuinely going to miss Meliá Sunny Beach. It has been such an enjoyable and memorable stay for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great family holiday in Sunny Beach. We are already hoping to come back with the rest of our family and stay for another week. Amazing family holiday, something for everyone ! we had 3 rooms and the hotel ensured we were all in the same block with low floors (emailed ahead of arrival) Food was amazing with plenty of choice, favourite was the Indian. Plenty of Bar staff so queues were dealt with quickly, paper cups by the pool so take your own plastic ones or purchase from reception. Never had a problem getting sunbeds but it was early in the season. Private beach area with snackbar was a bonus, only a few minutes walk and very nice. Plenty of shops nearby, and the fair was great too ! Hotel & rooms were spotlessly clean, the staff are always working hard to keep it this way. We will definitely return.

The hotel needs a bit extra love and attention in my view. Our room was a great size, very clean etc. the bathroom sadly let it down. The shower was faulty with both shower heads broken and not working properly. Also the shower screen doesn’t stop water at all so the bathroom floor was then soaked. The food was ok for an all inclusive but lacked seasoning. The drinks again ok, the beer was pretty average at best. The pools are nice and plenty of sun beds etc. All in all an ok stay but improvement is needed.

Hi... I write this with a heavy heart! I have been a loyal customer of melia sunny beach (back to iberostar days) since 2005 I love everything about this hotel apart from this years visit. I booked a cheeky week in may as im a cruise bunny now and knew I would miss the place With hindsight may wasn't the best month. Only block A open along with the indian. Shops were awakening and weather...well freezing! Uk basking in a heatwave while we were in coats ha ha. Certainly not the hotels fault! The thing that really got me... We love al alfresco eating. A waiter informed us half way through out meal we couldnt sit at the table we were as it was reserved and not to sit there again. I was fuming. Tables aren't reserved at melia he had clearly taken a backhander. Management informed Then... I was quite ill one morning. My travel companion answered the door to the manager. I couldnt quite make out what was going on however it transpired that someone was smoking weed and he came knocking to see if it was us! Ive never smoked weed in my life and certainly wouldnt have started in bulgaria! Im sure there would have been a better way of identifying the culprit than to accuse innocent guests! Hotel looking rather tired now. Also dont go may...very little open, entertainment not the best and mostly inside. Weather variable and was cold All this left a nasty taste in my mouth and I loved melia sb. Sad! ps: the seagull attacks were worse than ive ever experienced there!!!
