Apartments Amfora Plava Laguna

Last year we stayed at the Stella apt. As it was too small but we loved Stella Maris area we booked Amfora apt. According to Plava laguna website this was a 4 star accommodation. We paid a lot more than the last time. The pictures on the site only show the interior of the rooms and the outside of the little houses. However I was quite surprised when we were given an apt in the farthest building of apartments. It stated nowhere that it would be an apt. building and not a small house. But we said ok, we love the area, so we'll walk. The apt was stained, with ants running on the kitchen countertop, the bathroom looked old, there was duct tape in the bath, the hot water was not working, the TV was not working... We asked for the last two to be fixed, which they did. But they said that maybe the hot water will stop again as the boiler needs to be deep cleaned...The fan in the bathroom reeked so we didn't use it. This wasn't a 4 star we expected for the money. The food is good and the resort is nice but this experience really dissapointed us...

Depends on the season, it’s a bit quiet and a lot of ‘life’ is missing. That said, I enjoyed the quietness. It’s about 30 mins walk from the centre, it’s right by the seafront. There are little trains for people that can’t walk as far. We had the views by the port which was lovely when dinning outside. The apartment was decent as long as you don’t have high expectations. There’s a little supermarket for your essentials. One thing to note when you get off the airport at Puls our transfer took 2 hours to get there… they don’t tell you that on the travel agents websites!

They are not worth 4 stars. The design and furniture are very outdated. The bed was just a solid wooden board with a mattress. Only 1 bedroom has airconditioning so the second bedroom gets really uncomfortable. The water heater in the bathroom only has water for 2 people to shower briefly and lukewarm, the other people just had cold water. The taps were loose and not working properly. The airconditioning was completely clogged with dust. The stairs were loose which was very dangerous. In the kitchen is no oven but only a microwave and a toaster. The toaster was broken and after reporting this the broken one was picked up but we never got a new one. The barbecue on the balcony is not usable as it has no grates. We reported this by email and asked for a paid upgrade so we could enjoy our vacation but this turned out to be impossible as we booked through a travel agency? Sounds strange to me as they could have substracted the amount for the appartment. We were offerded a bungalow but this is just the same accomodation only on the ground floor so not an upgrade. The resort itself is tidy and there are lots of activities for children. All-in all we paid too much money for a disappointing vacation.

I was staying with my family for 6 nights in 2 Amfora apartments 4+2. I live in The Netherlands and my sister in Croatia. For my sister and her family were apartments great, as for Croatian standards they are good but from my own view is that they are not 4 stars as advertised ( I travel a lot). They were very clean on the arrival but they look run down. Be aware that daily cleaning is not included in the price but they do provide daily clean towels, toilet paper, sheets if needed. Everything looks cheap and old but I have paid a very resonable price so on the end I wouldn't say that is overpriced but maybe in the high season is diffrent. There were enough pots and pans, beds are good, fridge doesn't have a freezer part. There is a filter coffee machine, kettle and a tosti maker. Wifi is very bad ( please improve) , my own mobile connection was also bad when cloudy so good wifi is essential. There is a TV but there were no channels availble at first. My sister needs TV so we complained, a friendly repair man promissed to fix it and the next day we had all channels- puno hvala! Resort is beautiful and very well kept, apartments are less beautiful but if you report that something is dysfunctional they come very quickly to fix it. Service is overal very good, staff are kind and helpful, because of the service I would probably stay here again although I was not so happy with apartment.

Went to my local Tui store and the man, was very helpful, friendly and kept in touch. Well done Abingdon customer services. He gave me confidence in booking a holiday online. We was looking forward to our holiday. We had a long traveling day ahead. At the airport the Tui app didn’t work at all and during our holiday. I couldn’t get up the boarding passes, it said it’s an easy way to use and use tui. Luckily I screen shot the QL code the day before. We finally get to our resort, to be told to check in an hour. Was fine as there was restaurants on the resort. Was a lovely location. All we wanted to do was relax at our apartment. We had trouble unlocking the front door, using a key. Then we noticed the smell and the disgusting mess on the floors, dirty and clearly nothing was cleaned. The kitchen items was dirty, so we didn’t use the items, till we cleaned them throughly. Hairs in sink, in shower tray and outside of the shower. Toothpaste spray on the mirror and big old water tank in the bathroom. Broken toilet lid, the bathroom door, not shutting properly. Hanging electrical wires under the tv. You don’t expect it not to be cleaned at all. For 4 * it was disgusting and very disappointing to start our holiday in this way. We booked breakfast, as we thought it would be nice, we was glad as it got us out of our dirty apartment. Unfortunately the service, quality of the food and choice was very poor. Only one coffee machine, which didn’t even fill your cup to the top. We ended up getting breakfast food from the shop. The flight going and returning was delayed and my new suitcase was scratched and in bad condition. I won’t be using Tui again.
