Grand Park Hotel Rovinj

We stayed here for four nights to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday, and we couldn't have picked a better place, it was absolutely perfect in every way. We stayed in one of the duplex suites which was amazing - lots of space, amenities, and our own plunge pool. All the staff were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed - we couldn't have asked for more. We've stayed in a lot of high end hotels but this one easily beats them all - this was a truly memorable experience.

This is definitely a beautiful hotel. We had a great welcome and explanation of facilities and our room was ready early for check in which was great. Our room was on the 2nd floor and had a slight view of the sea and the main town which was lovely, but we never got any sun on the balcony which made drying towels and swimwear a bit of a challenge. The room was a good size and the bed was enormous and comfy. The wardrobe was ok....huge heavy sliding doors meant you could only access one side at a time, so if my husband was making a drink (which is in one side of telhe wardrobe), i then had to wait to slide the door across to access where my clothes were. Only 2 small drawers in such a big room and a few shelves in the wardrobe so storage not great. Bedside tables only....would have been nice for there to be a small cupboard or drawer next to the bed on each side. Apart from a padded bench the only chairs were uncomfortable director type wooden chairs (like we used to use for camping!!). It would be nice to have a couple of proper comfy chairs to sit in. I missed not having a dressing table with mirror and chairs for doing hair and makeup. Had to stand in the bathroom in front of the sinks to do this, which is not great. Also the extending magnifying mirror seems to be made for people that are 6 foot tall....so high up! Room designed by a man maybe? 🤔. I received a nice birthday welcome treat which was a nice touch....thank you. Breakfast was ok but not a huge choice compared to other hotels I've stayed in. Juices, cereals, bread, pastries. All hot food had to be ordered from a menu and the choices were pretty fancy. No option for just plain toast and marmalade. Any hot food ordered was brought out quickly, but the staff never seemed to know which table to take the food too. One morning we were brought 3 different breakfasts while we were eating our own (obviously other peoples orders). Same with hot drinks....which were served in tiny cups and never very hot. The pool area was lovely....always sunbeds available when we went there. Great to be able to hire good mountain bikes for the days....we made use of this most days. We had drinks in the bar a couple of evenings before going out...quite pricey...but expected them to be. We didn't try the in house restaurants as not a fan of fancy Michelin starred restaurants. The hotel is in a great location.....a 10-15 min walk alongside the marina into the main town. Rovinj is a beautiful place....quaint cobbled streets, great architecture and also next to the national park with good walking and cycling trails. All in all a great holiday. Would we stay at this hotel again.....probably not, mainly due to the style and facilities of the room and the lack of choice at breakfast.

Relaxing atmosphere, fantastic room, fabulous views

Wonderful 5 star hotel. Well appointed spacious rooms with views of the harbor. We had a balcony with plunge pool. Lovely surprise and very private. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well stocked. On site restaurants were very good. But, the highlight of the stay was the staff. Everything and everyone went above and beyond. Could not have asked for a better hotel.
