    Foarte bun

We have been coming to this hotel for five years, so this review comes from someone who genuinely likes the place and has chosen to return many times. There is still a lot to love: the rooms are spacious, the views are beautiful, the sea is absolutely amazing, and overall the service remains good. We have always enjoyed staying here, especially as a large family. That said, this year was the first time we left feeling slightly disappointed. The prices have increased significantly, almost double compared to what we used to pay, while it doesn’t really feel like the hotel or the experience has improved accordingly. In some areas, it actually feels like there has been a slight downgrade. For example, sunbeds that used to be included with the stay now come at an additional cost. Breakfast is good, but almost exactly the same every day. For a short stay, this probably isn’t an issue, but when staying for a longer period, it becomes very repetitive. By the last few days, some of us simply stopped going to breakfast and chose to eat elsewhere. There were also a few smaller details that felt strange for a hotel in this price range. Previously, bottled water was provided, whereas this year reusable bottles were filled with what was described as “homemade water.” We weren’t quite sure what that meant. Amenities were also not always replenished automatically, even basic things like soap sometimes had to be requested despite clearly running out. None of these things individually are a major problem, and the staff and overall service are still good. It is more about the general impression. When the price of a hotel increases substantially, you naturally expect the experience to improve with it. Instead, this year it felt as though we were paying considerably more while receiving slightly less. One of the main reasons our large family kept returning was that this hotel offered a great balance between price, comfort, and quality. At the current price point, however, it is now competing with much more luxurious holiday options, which makes it harder to justify some of these changes. We still like the hotel and have many good memories here, but after five years of returning, this was the first year when the price to quality balance no longer felt quite right. Hopefully, the hotel will focus on improving the experience rather than continuing to increase prices while removing some of the things that used to be included. And to be honest, I will give 4 stars because the previous years were great, but this year I would rate it as 3 stars

Had wanted to visit this hotel since I’d seen it & The Grand Park on a TV show on the uk. A visit to the grand park bar is a must to see the sunset! It didn’t disappoint the building is quirky with lots of attention to detail. I’d read it was really dated but we thought it was extremely modern? The room was huge, the most comfy bed and luxury brand toiletries ( Marlin+Gotez) Water was left for us everyday but you can drink the tap water. Massive sink and bath tub with separate shower. Breakfast was amazing, beautifully laid out, lots of food for gluten free and allergens labeled. Selma looked after us and always got our coffee without even asking for it! So friendly and we loved chatting with her in the mornings. There are a few outside areas to sit so don’t just go for the first one! The others have a bit more shade. Great places to grab lunch one by the beach with wonderful pizzas and a pool snack bar. The pool was a little disappointing as it is shared with the Eden hotel (which I knew) it’s extremely busy but there is plenty of space. Great parasols that can tip to offer shade as it was HOT! You can lay under the pine trees for more shade and it’s cooler. We had beige towels at Lone but most people had blue from Eden? The pool is a salt pool and it really did affect my sensitive skin. One great thing is the pool area had metal barriers so you can’t access the pool area until 8.30am! The beach was mega busy and Sunbeds crammed together not really our thing! We visited Mulini Beach club one day and were charged 130 euros for two comfy beds and a parasol. Service at your bed for drinks and food. It was nice but couldn’t do that everyday! We didn’t really understand how the areas worked, some beds on the walkway near the beach are 90 euros for two ( think this is zone C) and I think this our mistake as when I revisited the map it was clearer. The last day we managed to get beds in zone A which is lovely with steps into the sea and expected to pay as they are comfy beds but we realised now that this is included!! So this is the place to go but you need to be there early! The beach has plenty of showers and zone A is nearer to Grand Park so we visited Katrina’s on the promenade for lunch. We had the most amazing dinner at the Japanese, not really my thing as I don’t really do raw fish, but menu was really wonderful. It was my favourite dinner. The wagu sushi was just incredible and the Duck delicious. But the best part was the dessert WOW. The staff here are exceptionally lovely so knowledgeable and really kept their cool when dealing with a customer from another hotel who was continuously rude to them! The manager with blonde hair was excellent too helping us get booked in. The hotel has numerous other sister hotels and we also visited Brassiere Adriatic in the centre of Rovinj for my partners birthday dinner. The food was excellent and we sat in the square people watching and listening to the singer. A wonderful evening. Thank you to our hotel for the most wonderful birthday cake which they delivered with a birthday note! Rovinj itself is absolutely beautifully. It was extremely hot and the walk to town wouldn’t have really been an issue if it was slightly cooler it doesn’t look that far but it is! One night we were booked to go to Puntulina (which I thoroughly recommend the view is spectacular at sunset!) we tried to book an Uber but as we waited for the car the reception told us that there are no Ubers. Even though we had one on the App it was cancelled so the hotel arranged a taxi. This was 20 euros and the driver took us right the other side of the town so it was still a good walk! The uber then confirmed they were at the hotel and charged us 8 euros so be aware of this. Later in the week I googled the golf buggies which I’d seen in town and we had a lift to the church for 25 euros, booked on WhatsApp it’s definitely the way to get around as cars can’t get into the centre. It would have been nice for the hotel reception to recommend this as an option but when I asked they just said they are private. They do have a buggy at the hotel which we used on our second visit to Grand Park but this wasn’t offered to visit the Adriatic I suppose if I asked they would have taken us but when spending a considerable amount on dinner it would have been nice to be offered as I did book this through the Lone. Another top tip the Spa is stunning and they have the padded Sunbeds in the peaceful garden if you want some quiet time and you can go in and out to use the pool! Loved the hotel and we did enjoy our stay and would return now we understand the Sunbed arrangement and a little more about how to get around! Hopefully this will be helpful to others.

Hotel Lone is a great place for a holiday. I will try to explain honestly what we really liked and what could be improved. We stayed there for two weeks, during the last week of July and the first week of August 2026. What we loved: 1. Staff: amazing service wherever you go. At reception, for example, we asked for orthopedic pillows. By the time we got back to the room from reception, the pillows were already there. The breakfast team was always there for you: fast, attentive, remembering everything and caring. For example, our daughter loved crêpes. They cooked it for her and asked her if she would like to have them every morning, and she said yes. From then on, they pre-ordered fresh crêpes for her every day. We did not have to ask for anything or remind anyone. We would simply come for breakfast, and after a few minutes her portion of fresh crêpes was always there. Honestly, this was beyond our expectations. 2. Cleanliness: entire hotel and the beach were cleaned daily and were always very pleasant to be in. 3. Rooms: perfect size, and the housekeeping staff were incredibly fast and always there without us noticing them. For example, we would go for breakfast, and when we came back, the room was already clean. And when I say clean, I mean really well cleaned. Always. 4. Good quality and variety: I counted 9 types of eggs at breakfast, and the same attention to variety in every detail. We have stayed at great hotels around the world and in Istria as well. The variety here is comparable to what we have seen in some of the world’s top hotels. 5. Enoteka: there is a great Enoteka on the ground floor with a great wine tasting experience. It would be good to promote it somehow, as it was always empty and we only tried it shortly before leaving. Things to improve: 1. Smoking: this is not about the hotel itself, but as a non-smoker, it was almost impossible to be on the beach or on the restaurant terrace and breathe without someone smoking nearby. I guess it is more of a country issue. Every time someone smoked, which happened every 10–15 minutes for sure, I had to stand up and go for a swim, wait in the shade or go for a walk. In restaurants, we could only sit inside, as people were constantly smoking outside. Unfortunately. 2. Wellness area: there were some people who thought that having a conference call in the quiet relaxation area was a good idea. More control or supervision would help guests be more conscious of others in that area. 3. Wellness shower area next to sauna: more regular cleaning should be organised. Sometimes there was a strange and unpleasant smell. 4. Maistra points: we have stayed at Maistra hotels several times, and it is still a mystery to us how the accumulated points can be used. For example, at Kempinski, we know that they can be used for a discount on a stay or to cover hotel expenses, but here it is still unclear (maybe it’s us, and to be fair we didn’t ask at reception either). In general, we love Croatia and fell in love with Hotel Lone. We will come back as a family next year and strongly recommend it for a holiday. Thanks to the hotel team.
