Hotel Lone

Please stop the foyer nightclub, it is 2220, I complained to reception at 2200 that the rooms near the foyer (on the 5th floor)! are not soundproof enough to block the baseline banged out by the DJ. They said it would be turned down but it hasn’t been. I’d put up with it for 2 hours and was fed up. It maybe a Friday night but If I wanted banging tunes I’d go to the nightclub. Not the peaceful holiday I planned.

We truly enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Hotel Lone. We were greeted by the very friendly reception staff who were most helpful throughout our stay as were the concierge team. The hotel is large but very light and airy and so clean. We were a little surprised to see so many dogs but they are only allowed in a small part of the restaurant, not by the pool and not on the beach. I must say that on the whole they were all well behaved and we never saw any dog mess anyway. The rooms are a good size with plenty of room and the balconies are spacious and very private. The room was cleaned daily and the housekeeping team did a tremendous job. Breakfast was excellent, so much choice, especially vegetarian and vegan options. Yes breakfast can be busy but pick your time. Breakfast was served from 7-12, then changed to 7-11 from the 14th September. The first week was a bit manic with quite a few school children running around the breakfast area, no fault of the staff but bad parenting! The pool area does get busy as does the beach but we always managed to get a sunbed, with no charge for these on the beach. Towels are available too for use by the pool or beach. The location is perfect. A wonderful stroll into the town of Rovinj along a very clean walkway. We certainly got our steps in and for those who don’t like to walk, bikes were available too for hire. To the other side of the hotel is a large park. Staff were wonderful apart from one person at breakfast,(who shall remain nameless) but everyone else was lovely especially Nikolas and David. We fell in love with Rovinj and would certainly return and definitely recommend Hotel Lone.

Overall good but be aware that (a) the pool and beach are shared with the neighbouring Eden Hotel - so get extremely full and noisy and (b) the breakfast is a scrummage, people barging and chaotic…. It needs a better design, it’s a bit like an Ikea canteen. The hotel is easy to walk to from Rovinj along a well lit path with beautiful sea views. The bedroom is nicely designed with a lovely big bathroom but very little wardrobe or shelf space. Overall good but a little tired in places.

I am happy to recommend Hotel Lone in Rovijn Croatia, a place that has become very special to our family. This was our our third year returning, and it has truly become a destination we look forward to every year. For my grandchildren, Hotel Lone is their favorite place in the world. The wonderful setting, welcoming atmosphere, and memorable experiences have made each visit something they treasure. The beach is amazing, the breakfast exceptional, the accommodations wonderful with air conditioning throughout the hotel. A shoutout to the conceirge staff( Aura, Petra and Josipa). My family has traveled throughout Europe and the conceirge service at the Hotel Lone is by far the highest rated group we've ever worked with. Congratulations to them. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Lone to anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable place to stay in Croatia, especially for families who value exceptional experiences and time together. A true 5 star hotel, luxury at its best. Rooms were huge! The best breakfast ever! Spoilt for choice and cooked well! Bubbly included. All the fine things you would expect from a 5 star accommodation, only thing to be mindful is that hotel is one a collection of hotels, the grounds are massive, so quiet a walk to get to A to B. Not a problem for myself but for people who hate walking or have accessible issues can be challenging , especially as could be quite a steep walk. All in all I say worth every penny. Many hotels claim 5 star but have little to show for it.
