Laguna Maradiso Hotel by Aminess

Overall we thought this was a good hotel for the price. We found the reception staff were very helpful including giving us a kettle (us British!) and helping find a car hire company. We did find that some other couples we spoke to found the rooms on the small side, but we had paid a bit extra for a suite; so a bedroom, living room and bathroom all together which were all very satisfactory - if overall the decor was a little bit dated. From the top floor we had a good view though i think that some of the pine trees will need coppicing at some point to avoid the light and view into hotel rooms being overly obstructed. There was a constant loud noise coming from some extractor vent on the roof of the adjacent hotel, i can only hope that is sorted out in the off-season, because it made sitting out on the balcony uncomfortable. The location is excellent with a good beach no more than five minutes walk (no sand but all good!). The pool was also good and everything seemed very clean. Generally the food was ok given the 3-star rating, but things could have been improved by using more heating lights etc on the food serving areas, we found often the food was luke-warm. However, there was a reasonable variety of food available and the waiting staff were very good. Also to note that whilst you can walk into the main town centre, there is an excellent tourist 'train' that operates on a regular timetable throughout the day and into the evening from the hotel to take you there, this isn't mentioned in the guides about the hotel but is definitely a find. You can also use the facilities at the adjacent hotel (some need to be paid for). Overall, a good experience with good staff and friendly clientele.

We came here on the 23rd September and we are still here now as I write my review. When I first found this holiday. I was ecstatic as We had been to Croatia before and were looking forward to exploring some more on Novigrad the surrounding areas. We chose this holiday because we enjoy visiting places of interest, generally by Public Transport, we enjoy Half Board and in-house Evening Entertainment. We decided to go in September as it is still in Season, but not Peak Season. UK On arrival, we were put in Room 102, I call It a Prison Cell with no light of life. We were told that both their hotel next door did not have any adult entertainment because it was now the winter season. We then found out that all public transport and excursions had stopped, so we are trapped in This Hotel with only Novigrad to go to after a long walk and nothing else. However when it got cold over night, I tried to put the heating on and failed. When I saw the reception the next morning, I was told the Central Heating System does not come on because it 's not the Winter Season yet. They use the Winter Season excuse to fit anything they want to sell. In addition, we have been ill twice with the runs while we are here, had to pay extra to get a reasonable room. We came for an interesting holiday, got stuck on "Prisoner's Island" and can't wait to get home, which is more interesting than this wasted time and money of a holiday.

We've spent a weekend in the Maradiso hotel and we enjoyed it. The hotel itself is a bit old-fashioned, but it was a nice stay, the surrounding area is fabulous and the hotel's pool is great - they clean it every night with robot vacuum and staff cleans the surroundings thoroughly every morning! Food was average, but for a short stay absolutely fine. They served great coctails which we could take to the pool area in nice coctail type plastic glasses not regular ones, which leveled up the feeling! There are opportunities to play games, like mini golf in the camp area. I'd recommend the place.

Very nice hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Beach nearby. 15 min by foot to town center.

We’ve stayed at both Hotel Laguna and Maestral several times with our toddler and always have a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel offers lots of family-oriented amenities – a pool, mini golf, ping pong, kids’ playroom, live music, mini disco, and even occasional open-air cinema nights. We usually travel as a small family, but other relatives often join us for a few days, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Food is very good with plenty of variety. Rooms are small and dated, but they match the 3-star standard – clean and functional. We stayed in a suite this time, which was a great choice for extra comfort. Last year we had issues with parking, but we were happy to see it’s now well-organized – they clearly took guest feedback seriously. A great spot for families with young kids. We’ll definitely be back again!
