Maistra Select Resort Villas Rubin

This was our first time to this resort, and I can honestly say, it is the first resort we have been to where we would definitely go back to. To put this into context, we never go back to the same holiday resorts twice, as we find you get the best magic/experience on your first visit, (as you don't notice or mind the little things which may not be great, but you do if you go back again). This resort ticked all the boxes for us, quiet, good clean room, great food, spotlessly clean everywhere, loads of sun loungers on the beach, crystal clear water (Blue Flag Beach), authentic, great friendly and helpful staff, perfect. Our room was situated at the top end of the resort near the Reception, and it was perfectly clean, large room and bathroom and balcony looking over a large green patch of grass with tall pine tress. It was perfectly located to visit to Rovinj Town which was a short bus journey away. It was the end of the season, so it was nice and quiet, with a calm peaceful atmosphere and although there wasn't much going on, entertainment wise this is what we wanted. A quiet relaxing break away from work, family, stress, health problems etc, so we were fine. We didn't use the pool, as we had the Adriatic sea to swim in however the pool was spotlessly clean, there were slides for the kids, you could hire bikes, play tennis and other sports, so there was something for everyone. We would highly recommend staying here, whether you are old or young and choose your time of year wisely to get the best experience. Overall, the entire experience, room, food and facilities were extremely good value for money. We stayed half board and there was always enough food, a wide choice of different foods, plenty of room to find a table and it was totally clean. Thanks Maistra Select Villas Rubin Resort, we had a lovely time staying with you.

The tennis courts were poorly managed. Despite it being peak season, only about half of the courts were in use. The attached photo shows three courts that remained closed throughout our 10-day stay. When we tried to book them, we were told they were reserved. A manager from the front desk backed up the tennis staff’s false story when I demanded an explanation.

Old, stinky apartment with spiders and ants. Air c.didnt work. We were freezing during the nights. We called three times for help and ask to repair it but they didnt do anything. The food was delicious. Parking is available very near the apartment.
