Monte Mulini Adults Exclusive Hotel By Maistra

Just returned from a lovely relaxing stay at the Monte Mulini. As mentioned in previous reviews, the rooms are beautifully appointed recently updated to a high standard with very well designed fitted furniture, gorgeous bathroom everything was just lovely. We were on the first floor with limited view due to greenery but this was to be expected and didn't detract from a relaxing sit on the balcony at anytime of the day. To start the day in the restaurant having breakfast was a delight with buffet so plentiful and the added bonus of cooked options if you so wish. The staff lead by Sandra were so friendly and very very hard working too many staff to name but Bobana, Maskia and Saskia (I think that's how I spell his name) were so kind even remembering our morning beverage of choice too. The concierge team were extremely kind and helpful especially Zoran who sorted us out our trips and restaurant recommendations he is a gentleman a true professional. The reception team seem to have taken a few criticisms in other reviews but we found them helpful they were serious sometimes but that was just 'their way' once they opened up to us they were friendly and smiley. The housekeeping staff were also so friendly and smiley too always a friendly hello and asking how our day was going when we met on the corridors and the pool team also went above and beyond to get us some shade in the hot past few days (apparently not usually so hot at this time of year). All in all a truly lovely stay so much so we've already booked to return next year even though we've only been home 24 hours. A nice walk into town in the evenings for food and drinks made a perfect end to our even days in Rovinj.

We took a ferry from Venice to Rovinj, and were looking forward to a calm, relaxed stay in comfortable accommodations and pleasant surroundings. We were not disappointed! It turns out that we needed a bit of extra attention while we are at the Hotel, and the friendly staff could not have been more helpful.

Lovely hotel with amazing views. Many trees blocking view from rooms but we were upgraded to room 207 which was great. Check in was poor! We arrived by 11 am and obviously room not ready, but no real welcome or information. Guy told us he would call when it was ready but he didn’t. When we did actually check in there was no warmth! Been to loads of 5 star hotels and been treated much better with lots of information about hotel and area. Found this very poor. Breakfast staff very welcoming. Beautiful pool area with great staff, however, beds are VERY low and heavy. Placed right by the edges of pools so difficult to walk past. Also loads of umbrellas but don’t actually shade the beds. Swim up pool bar closed for end of season after 2 days, not good. Also some restaurants in Rovinj. Too many dogs! Although they didn’t interfere with us. Didn’t use evening restaurants, but very expensive and not to our taste. Hotel is a peaceful but has little atmosphere. Noticed the broken pavings on main walkway, not good. Enjoyed, but probably will not return.

A wonderful stay – we would love to return ✨ We had such a wonderful stay at Monte Mulini and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better base for our holiday in Rovinj. As a younger couple, we loved that the hotel felt luxurious and special while still being relaxed, welcoming and never pretentious. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, right by the Adriatic, while still being within easy walking distance of Rovinj’s Old Town. It was the perfect combination for us - exploring Istria during the day and then coming back to somewhere calm and beautiful to unwind. The service was a real highlight. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, attentive and genuinely willing to help with every enquiry. We particularly appreciated the attentiveness at the beach, where the team were consistently helpful and made us feel very well looked after. The personable approach throughout the hotel made a real difference and made the experience feel genuinely personal. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and everything fresh and beautifully presented. We also loved having the pool and beach so close, particularly after busy days exploring Rovinj and the surrounding villages. There were only a couple of very minor things we noticed. On our final night, our usual bath salts weren’t replenished, and we found some of the room lighting a little inconsistent and difficult to operate. These really are small points in the grand scheme of things and didn’t detract from what was otherwise an excellent stay. Overall, Monte Mulini gave us exactly the kind of holiday we had hoped for - stylish, relaxing, beautiful and with genuinely lovely people looking after you. We were very impressed with the whole experience and are already very keen to return. We would absolutely recommend it to couples looking for a little bit of luxury alongside the best of Rovinj and Istria.

Lovely adults only hotel. Rooms excellent, very well appointed. Try to avoid room 11, plant not cut back like adjacent rooms leaving no view, requested a plant trim but was told not possible. Staff very reluctant to move us initially, after 3 nights an alternative was offered for a price. Breakfast was always lovely and the staff very accommodating. Location is excellent with a short walk into Rovinj. No problem with beds by the pool but some were reserving beds before breakfast overall an excellent hotel and would return. Loved the area.
