Valamar Collection Girandella Maro Suites

We stayed at this hotel in August/September 2025. The location was beautiful and the hotel was excellent with large family rooms a great and friendly cleaning team and very helpful and friendly staff. The food was very good with great selection and available for most of the day, we were even provided with a packed lunch and a later dinner when we had a long excursion to Venice. We travelled with two coeliacs and the restaurant managers could not have been more helpful. All food was clearly labelled for allergens and they had pancakes, pizzas and desserts made specially for them most days, always made and served with a smile. The all inclusive drinks were also good, with great cocktails and fun bar hands. Beaches were pebbly but we knew that from the photos and took water shoes. There was a great selection of activities available including the spa, water parks, jet skis, scuba diving, crazy golf all on the resort but they do cost extra.

This is a lovely resort, we stayed at the adults only site, which is only a short walk to the beach and promanade of Rabac. There was a road train that you can use if you didn't want to walk, it runs from one end of the resort to the other end past all the restaurants and bars, this cost €3 each way. Our room was very nice which had a power shower. The room was cleaned daily. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly. The breakfast / brunch was excellent and you can go between 8AM and 2PM.

We stayed for 2 weeks in Maro Suites as a family of 4. We were very fortunate as we were allocated a larger suite with 2 bathrooms, suitable for up to 6 which we really appreciated. Our 3 year old was able to play on the large balcony area and there was a clothes hanger too for drying. The balcony view was spectacular, beautiful trees, with the sea in the background. The apartment was spotless and very modern. Our bed was MASSIVE and super comfy. Our 3 year old LOVED the evening entertainment. The disco was brilliant. Staff made such an effort, some of them did a full 30 minute routine wearing the hotel themed character's outfit (Maro). The clown was very good. The comedian/wizard was good too (though we did see the same routine 3 times). All of the staff were very professional and hard working. The food in the buffet restaurant was fine and the views from the restaurant were spectacular. There were porters who collected our luggage on arrival and departure which was also really appreciated. One negative is that we were not able to leave our 7 months old baby in the baby club as staff said they would not be able to give her milk and if she fell asleep, they would have to call us to collect her after 15 minutes (otherwise there would have been a €25 per hour charge). I feel it would have worked better if the baby and kids club had a 2 hour reservation system and I would have been OK to pay a fee but not €25 per hour!! The kids club for ages 3+ also got really busy, especially when the weather wasn't too good. In my opinion a reservation system would have worked better. Our 3 Yr old was too clingy and we were unable to leave her at the kids club - with the unpredictability of the staffing and number of kids in attendance it would not have been a reliable option to drop our 3 Yr old off.

Lovely hotel nice location very relaxed and chilled however the staff could be a bit more attentive and explain things more as it’s complex. We are all inclusive but that does not mean every bar in fact only one bar is all inclusive the rest you pay for makes no sense to us. You have to go up 3 floors from the beach to get a drink unless you want to pay. The all inclusive is not worth it so don’t bother better pay as you go.

We spent three days (our 41 wedding anniversary) in Girandella Designed for Adults Hotel, Valamar Collection. We have mixed feelings, actually we don't like the concept. As it is big resort, and Adults Only Hotel is only smaller part of it, we had to park the car in far away parking. They took us with electric golf cart to the reception (it is one reception for whole resort as we understood) and than to the hotel. Hotel has only rooms and restaurant, no reception, no bar to sit in the evening. It is not far from the sea, but access to the sea is very difficult for older people. So we had to use pools, that were nice, but it is not swimming in the sea. Food was not good and not bad, it was hotel food. Room was so small that we were happy that we stayed only three days and had only small luggage with us. When one of us was dressing, the other had to stay on the bed or on the balcony. It wouldn't be nice to stay for a week in such a small room. The best in this hotel are employees – Valamar should be proud on their staff, they are well trained, professional and exceptionally kind.
