Valamar Tamaris Resort

My wife and I stayed here as part of a coach party all inclusive great place plenty to do great pools pebbles for a beach plenty of jellyfish in the sea at the time we stayed food was good only complaint could benefit from a microwave as food warm but cooked,could imagine that the restaurant would get very busy in the high season (we stayed last week of September) last week of the hotel season before closing for the winter Over all a pleasant stay we recommend

Was worried about this holiday after reading previous reviews but once there our worries were unfounded. We are well travelled and know what to expect from a 4 star rated hotel. Quick check in and out. Not many Brits at the hotel. Food very good a bit samey but still plenty of choice. Excellent fish and roast meat. The main restaurant can get busy at times but still managed to get a table every time. As it was the end of season the other restaurants were closed. Cocktails didnt contain much alcohol but were ok. Coffee from self serve machines was good quality. Self service cold drinks and water machines located at various points in the hotel and bars as well. Rooms clean and grounds well maintained. Adult pool area quiet but know this would be different in high season. Clean and tidy. Pool towel service by the pool. All staff friendly. Nice walks out of the hotel along the coast path. The walk to the left along the coast path goes through a nudist camping site this was not a problem just avert your eyes. It made it an interesting walk and you feel overdressed being fully clothed. 😆 The hotel is isolated in the middle of a wooded area but if you want a chill out holiday i would recommend a stay as this is a lovely hotel. Do not watch Tv on holiday but Sky World News or Cnn World News only English channels on it. Lovely barn swallows come into roost in a tree in the centre on an evening in the centre of the hotel and are fascinating to watch. Tui transfer time says its 1 hour from the airport however as last drop off is more like 2 hours. Transfer back to airport took 1hr 30 as less pick ups.

Overall not a bad place and was in a beautiful setting and the room was nice and staff nice. We did not really research this holiday and would not go back mainly as our criteria for holidaying has changed. The Swimming pool was nice BUT there was a big sign up saying quiet area, no way this was happening with 95%+ of the guests being families with kids. The food was average and did not change much but we understand they are catering for a lot of guests. At certain meal times it was carnage the restaurant could no way handle the number of guests eating. Lastly beware as soon as you leave the resort and head down to the beach waterfront area which is really nice you will be stung for €20+ a day for sun beds and umbrellas.

We didn't research our holiday very well, so we didn't know much before we arrived. The resort is a two hour coach ride from the airport ( WithTUI) Hotel in itself was very clean, very polite and helpful staff, Food in the restaurant was consumable but not nice. Lots of children and people were also taking their dogs intotherestaurant!! The resort is on the end of a peninsula, some beautiful walks, Rocky , pebble beach, one sandy beach ( man made) which was chargeable .The swimming pools are lovely, as are the surroundings and views. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. We did find it very noisy and busy , Too far away from anything else for exploring the local area. A boat trip to Navigrad was great, beautiful place.

We had an amazing stay at the Valamar Tamaris resort - Family of 8 and we never struggled to get a table together at Breakfast, Lunch or dinner. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols around the pool for us all as well. The queues for the food are ridiculous though and people can be super greedy. The hotel and surrounding areas were all kept lovely and clean, staff polite and friendly. Lovely selection of food and drinks, table service in the hotel foyer sometimes which was a nice touch. WiFi around the pool and hotel was always excellent and even still connected when we were down at the beach. On the Tui website and the Valamar App it shows that the Taverna bar is open for food and drinks, this is not the case and just serves 'pool' drinks. This area could of been used better to free up some table space in the evening. Overall a lovely holiday and would love to go back - If you are a family then this resort has everything that you need for a lovely All Inclusive stay. Again on the Tui website it states that it is a 60 minute transfer from Pula airport, however this is not the case and it is nearly 2 hours with the other drops.
