Kontiki Beach Resort Curacao

The Kontiki has beautiful grounds. We really enjoyed our stay, the room was extremely clean, the grounds were well cared for, the beach was amazing and we never had any issues getting a sunbed. The pools are gorgeous and never have many people in them so it is great if you want less people around. All of the staff was super kind and friendly. Maid service was great. We opted for the included breakfast and it was well worth it. It is in walking distance to many beachfronts as well as restaurants and shops to browse. Should we ever return to Curacao, we definitely will stay at The Kontiki again. We loved our stay! There were only two things we didn't like, one was that you had to go all the way to the front desk to get a fresh beach towel each time you needed one. There really should be a towel hut out by the beach for convenience. The second was that the hotel does not have small washcloths. They leave fresh hand towels and bath towels in the room daily, just no washcloths. Luckily we had disposable face towels that we brought and were able to use as washcloths through the week as they were thick and durable and the same size as a regular washcloth so they worked perfect for us.

Everything was perfect. Clean room, staff is very friendly. Beach is clean and you can use the sunbeds for free. There is a lot of different choises for dinner, and everything was delicios. We will defitnetly come back.

So called resort was adequate at best. This is not a resort and if so does not even come close to resorts we have stayed at. The unit we stayed at-#25 could use a total make over. It was very outdated and ran out of hot water in the shower. It is concrete and stucco and feels like you are in a basement and had a funky musty smell. We won’t be back.

Although a nice place, the rooms could be lighter and brighter. The beds were twin, with a top pad on them. Not so comfortable but still a spacious room. It was an average resort. The initial greeting was weird with the lady with the eye glasses (shown in the below picture). She didn't come as very friendly. At some points, kinda rude. All other staff was very friendly.

The resort is beautiful and in a great location, however, the staff are not friendly. My experience is that only 50% of the staff were nice, warm & accommodating. The room and bathroom was not cleaned as well as I expected for a 4 day stay. Staff were rude and very snappy. Overall, the experience could have been better. I will be back to Curaçao but I will NOT be back to Kontiki.
