Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay

My family (couple and 3 sons) just completed 4 days at the Four Seasons in Jimbaran Bay. This was our first stay at a Four Seasons property and the visit exceeded all expectations. From the attention and warmth of the staff, to the luxurious villas, and beautifully maintained property, we could not have been happier with the service. The beach is beautiful, suitable for those who want to wade in the water as well as those interested in boogie boarding and surfing. We liked that the beach had a dynamic energy while the resort felt very serene. Special shout-out to Mario and Yogi at the Sundara pool for their kind hospitality.

17 years later, I come back to Four Seasons Jimbaran. Everything has changed, yet everything remains as good as it was the first time. Four Seasons Jimbaran remains one of the most beautiful Four Seasons properties I have visited. Be sure to stroll through its vast, multi-level gardens, which offer breathtaking views over Jimbaran Bay, both at sunrise and sunset. The bungalows and villas are very pleasant, built in a traditional Balinese style that lends real charm to the property, although they are slightly smaller than today’s standards. The villas at the neighboring Raffles Bali, for example, are more spacious. Ask for a villa in the first row, closest to the beach: they offer better panoramic views of the ocean than the villas further uphill. Four Seasons Jimbaran has expanded its restaurant offering since my last visit. There are now three: Jala, a very good traditional Indonesian restaurant; Sundara, a beachfront lifestyle restaurant; and Taman Wantilan, a culinary marketplace featuring multiple Asian cuisine stations. I would also recommend Rumari at the neighboring Raffles, which is at Michelin-star level, although Michelin does not yet cover Indonesia. Four Seasons Jimbaran can take you there by buggy in five minutes. The spa treatments are as good as those at other luxury resorts, but the setting of the Spa Villa is among the finest I have experienced. The concierge service is also very helpful. Special thanks to Yudis, who helped us craft our excursions. I wanted to revive a magical memory from 25 years ago: a misty afternoon, a Balinese temple lost in the tropical forest, and a traditional ceremony taking place there. I found the temple, still wonderfully preserved and largely untouched by tourist circuits, but unfortunately, the magic was gone. I have now completed my quest to revisit the places of my past in Bali. However, there are still many other marvelous islands to discover in Indonesia, and Bali is often the gateway to them. If any of these places happen to become my future destinations, I will certainly make sure to spend a few days again at Four Seasons Jimbaran — to enjoy, above all, the gentleness of the Balinese people.

I had a hard time picking a beach area hotel for Bali because there are so many wonderful ones. And I am so happy I picked the Four Seasons!! My husband and I were celebrating our 35th anniversary and the hotel and staff went above and beyond to make it the most special ever! I communicated back and forth with the concierge ahead of time for a special dinner on the actual night and we decided to book the Boho Gazebo for a private dinner overlooking the beach. The setting and tablescape were beyond gorgeous (see pics) and the food was delicious. We chose the Seafood Lover’s Delight and feasted, among other things, on caviar, bbq lobster and freshly-caught salt-baked snapper. After, when we got back to our room, we were delighted to find cakes and a beautiful display on our bed with towel swans, rose petals and “Happy 35th Anniversary” in leaves! It was a marvelous celebration! Other things I loved about the hotel - the property is beautiful, serene and tranquil. Despite this being high season, it never felt crowded. There was beauty everywhere - an infinity pool that cascaded down to another pool below, and another fabulous pool and beach at their gorgeous Sundara Beach Club. See pics. Our garden villa (#136) was spacious and well-located for most places we went. We only needed a buggy to get to Sundara and service was prompt. We had two fabulous massages at the Spa. I highly recommend booking! And we absolutely loved our Sulawesi cooking class at Jala with Chef Surya. I cannot wait to go home and make the whole meal, but especially the chicken! We also enjoyed the food at the other restaurants and everyone worked so hard to accommodate my hatred of cilantro. The staff here goes above and beyond. They are so friendly and service is stellar. I wish I could give a million stars! Thank you Four Seasons for the best anniversary ever and for making us feel so special!!!

Wow what an amazing experience. A lovely spot on Jimbaran bay. The four Seasons is a beautiful proeprty and has a rustic authentic local feel while remaining upmarket. The facilities are excellent, our daughter enjoyed the kids club and there was a wide range of activities for her. Me and my wife both got to enjoy the spa and can honestly say the massage received was one of the best after sampling sinilar in many locations. The dinners were all great and catered to all tastes. Sundara served more wester favourites such as grilled meat and pizzas. Taman Wantilan server a range of options freahly cooked to order. Jala was an authentic indonesian offering a la carte and fixed options. All food was high quality, fresh and well made. Finally what really made the stay that extra special was the people. This is five star done the right way. All staff helpful and friendly, nothing too kuch trouble and always checking in to make sure things are good or just stopping for polite conversation. Genuinles felt welcomed and at home. Was legitimately sad to leave.

Faultless resort. Under promises and over delivers on so many levels. Service was exceptional and the grounds were an oasis. We didn’t want to leave. Will be back for sure!!
