Maya Ubud Resort & Spa

This is not a five star hotel and you can do much much better for the money in Bali. I’ve stayed in over 30 hotels here including 6 in Ubud. That said, it is perfectly fine, very nice even with some very good features. It just isn’t worth the price. The good points - staff are lovely, massage at the spa was very good, the riverside pool is beautiful. Room service was very quick. Butler service was excellent. Having a nurse clinic on site free of charge is excellent not all hotels have this. The flower baths are beautiful and well priced. However. The rooms are a basic Balinese style which is fine however you can purchase a room like this in Ubud for $150 a night, no need to pay $350+. The food is dreadful. Really bad. Breakfast the hot food was cold, the selection was poor, room service meals arrived cold and inedible (thought delivered quickly which is perplexing). Afternoon tea was a cup of stale popcorn. Overall the hotel was fine, it just didn’t justify its star rating or price point. The Lohka for example is a very similar hotel, similar rooms, same distance from central Ubud, same infinity jungle pool, for a third of the price.

Absolutely stunning scenery, rice paddies, palm trees & a flowing river. 10 acres of tropical gardens, beautiful staff, great breakfast, nice rooms, good facilities, the adult pool & spa area is just amazing, free shuttle into town or a quick Gojek. Already booking our return.

I stayed with my husband at the Maya Ubud for 3 nights and it just wasn’t long enough for our honeymoon. The hotel is in the most beautiful setting. We had a hotel room overlooking the rice terraces. The room was spacious and clean with complimentary water (throughout our stay) and fruit (upon arrival). We participated in two of the many activities available in the resort, the forest trail and rice paddy walk. Gunasar was an amazing tour guide for both. Extremely knowledgeable and ready to answer our questions. He also provided us with insect repellent putting our safety first. We mainly used the adult infinity pool which looked out into the forest. It felt like you were listening to forest sounds on Spotify as all you could hear was the running of the river. It was out of this world. We purchased the ‘jet lag’ spa package. This was by far the best spa I have ever been to in my life. The setting was unreal and the therapists were amazing! We spent our evenings at the Tree Bar where again the service was exceptional. On one night we had dinner at the Mayasari restaurant accompanied by live music. We were given a table at the front of it all, essentially treated like royalty. Another highlight was the amazing range provided for breakfast. The food was so fresh. A lovely lady from guest relations came up to us one morning at breakfast to check how our stay was so far and if there was anything they could do to make the stay more special. There wasn’t anything more they could do to help us. We loved every minute. I would strongly recommend staying at this hotel. You almost don’t have to leave the resort. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so special.

The best location ever,friendly staff,beautyful people,tasty food big rooms with pool and private butler.I recommend.

The place is so serene, from the front yard to the inside, everything is beautiful. All the staff are super friendly, attentive, and serve from the heart. The venue for wedding was decorated exceptionally beautifully and the Balinese beauty feels so strong. All the guests who attended were really impressed and loved it. The resort where we stayed was also really nice, great view and very clean.
