Puri Bagus Candidasa

Everyone working at the hotel was so lovely and accommodating. Every member of staff takes the time to introduce themselves and remember your name. Saba on reception helped us keep our room for an extra few hours free of charge as we had a later flight. Mudana was attentive by the pool and set us up with a nice flowery bed by the pool and couldn’t help enough with drinks and towels etc. The waiting staff were also Susila and Dawyu were so lovely and couldn’t help us enough. I had a lovely experience at the spa with Ekar, she did a fantastic welcome massage for only $5, followed by a manicure and even washed my hair for free so I didn’t have to ruin my nails getting ready. There’s a free shuttle that takes you to a beautiful sandy beach (white sand beach) and the driver kindly just waited for us until we were ready to leave. There’s so many lovely staff I would have liked to name dropped but unfortunately that’s as good as my memory gets. Overall, we’ve had a lovely experience and would like to return in the future should we ever come back to Bali.

Puri Bagus Candidasa is a lovely bungalow hotel situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The balinese style bungalows are spacious and clean, the outdoor bathroom is fun. All staff, at reception, restaurant and management, are excellent, extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant at breakfast and dinner was absolutely wonderful, food was delicious. Definitely at the top end of all our Bali experiences. And when leaving I even got a jar of tamarind jam as a gift because I liked it so much. :) Only one caveat: Since last year there is a governmental construction project in Candidasa to build a promenade like in Sanur, so there is some construction going on on various, changing parts all over Candidasa and beach access is restricted. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay in Candidasa very much, and Puri Bagus is doing a great job to make up for any inconvenience! We loved staying here and we are looking forward to come back. Friendliest and most helpful staff ever. The accommodation was clean and well maintained, and the food was delicious. Will definitely be returning as soon as the beach project is complete.

Puri Bagus is a wonderful balinese style hotel with spacious bungalow rooms and an exceptional pool. The staff especially, are lovely and attentive. We have stayed here many times, it is a special place. The government project of building an esplanade along the entire seafront of Candidasa will be transformative. There is noise from machinery atm but that is temporary. The essential charm of the hotel remains unchanged.

This is a truly beautiful property, consisting of 46 individual villas. It was low season during our stay, so I believe only 3 of the villas were occupied. Our villa was extremely comfortable, though I wish they offered a selection of pillows to make for more comfortable sleep. The aircon worked very well. The outdoor bathroom was no problem, although you may hear every sound from your neighbors' (also outdoor) bathroom. Breakfast is ala carte, but if it is included in your booking you get plenty of choices. We had lunch at the on-site restaurant on the day we arrived, but I can't say we were very impressed by the food. For a delicious meal within walking distance, I recommend Sarira Restaurant just a few minutes up the road. There are numerous restaurants and shops in Candidasa, but you will need to rent a motorbike or use a taxi or rideshare service to reach them. The staff at Puri Bagus are delightful--so friendly and helpful. My partner and I were amazed by the towel art created by the housekeeper that incorporated my partner's sunglasses (hopefully my photo of that is attached). If I return to Candidasa, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Puri Bagus again!
