Bungalows Miraflor Suites

We had a lovely holiday at the HL Miraflor Suites in Gran Canaria and would happily return. When we first arrived, we weren't entirely happy with our room. This wasn't due to the quality or standard of the hotel, but because some maintenance work was taking place nearby. We mentioned this to reception, and the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating. They arranged to move us as soon as possible, which we were very grateful for. The hotel itself has beautiful grounds and a wonderful atmosphere throughout. The adults-only area is particularly lovely and perfect for those looking for a quieter, more relaxing experience. The staff were outstanding from start to finish. A special mention has to go to Stephen at reception and the hotel manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The level of customer service was exceptional and genuinely made a difference to our holiday. The food was surprisingly good for a buffet-style restaurant. They clearly cater for a wide range of tastes, and there was always plenty of choice for everyone. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the drinks were great, and we particularly liked the self-service lager, wine, and soft drinks available in the main bar area. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely visit again, largely because of how well we were looked after. Thank you to everyone at HL Miraflor Suites for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Just back from a lovely week at the Miraflor Suites. The complex is lovely and clean, great swimming pool area and the suites are really nice. You have your own patio area with sun beds and they are close to the pool and restaurant. The housekeepers do a great job and clean daily if you need/want. The staff are fantastic at the Miraflor Suites- so helpful, friendly and professional- that’s at the bar, in the restaurant, on reception, the entertainment team and the man who changes the towels. I was saddened to overhear them having to put up with rudeness from guests on occasions which was unnecessary but they dealt it with so professionally. Andre the manager is often present, keeping a watchful eye and making sure everyone is happy and having a good time. We would highly recommend the Miraflor suites for a family holiday.

This is quoted as a family hotel. It does have a daily animation team and 3 swimming pools Be aware you are not allowed to play with balls in the pools no matter how soft they are and you cannot use swimming aids. That includes the very young or if you have a disability. There are no exceptions. So if you are looking for a family holiday and want to spend time in the pool this hotel is not for you. We complained to reception but they were not interested. Apparently this is the rules in all HL hotels It has spoilt our holiday plus the money we paid for a family of nine. Spend your money elsewhere

We stayed for a week half board in one of the older bungalows. On arrival we were greeted by Stefan. He was so lovely and welcoming we immediately felt at ease. All the reception staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay despite them having to deal with a number of difficult people. Their profesionalism really stood out. The food was fine and we could always find something we liked at breakfast and dinner. The older style bungalows are ready for an update but the bed and pillows were very comfy, the aircon was good and we had everything we needed (apart from a kettle). The pools were nice and there were plenty of sunbeds but not enough umbrellas so it was umbrella wars by 11am. We arent in to loud animation so found this irritating as we just prefer a bit of back ground music. For this reason we would book to stay adult only next time where we could have used that pool. Lots of people were enjoying the animation though. Nacho did stop by for a chat and he really is as lovely as id read in the reviews before our stay. The only big problem during our stay was with a couple of bar staff. Whilst drink prices are reasonable sometimes they decide to upgrade your drinks or charge extra. This happened after id tipped a barman generously and suddenly my drink prices jumped up. After we said something they got a bit funny with us. No need for that. Overall we had a good stay and found the majority of staff to be very hardworking, polite and friendly. The location was perfect for Yumbo, not too far from the beaches and there are loads of nice bars and restaurants in the area. We would stay again but next time we would pay extra to stay in the adult only area for a bit more peace

Stayed at the miraflor suites in one of the older bungalows. Can't fault the staff on reception, they extended our room a few hours after check out due to a family member with medical issues, check out is 11am and we were able to keep the room til 1pm, pick up to airport was 5pm, reception has a shower and luggage storage for those with later pick ups. (They had 22 people checking in so couldn't extend any longer than 1pm) Room cleaned everyday, clean towels everyday if we needed them, restaurant staff great, food was ok, great selection at breakfast, although no honey for the yoghurt. Snack bar is burgers, hotdogs and pizza, lunch and dinner selection was ok. Soft drinks, Amstel beer and wine on tap, didn't try the cocktails so can't comment on that. You can tell the spirits are either not very strong or watered down. 3 pools 1 of which is the kids pool, lots of sun loungers available, you have to be quick though to get a brolly. The pool area on one of the days was quite dirty, there were empty cups, fag buts and spilt drinks , but overall pool area was good. The only con I have is the older bungalows need a good update - there were cracks on the ceiling, the tiles in our shower were cracked, the seal around the shower screen was dirty, the lock on our bathroom door was broke, I'd recommend upgrading to one of the newer bungalows for anyone coming. If we come again we'll be booking the adults only area with swim up pool. Yumbo centre is a 7 min walk away, playa del ingles beach about a 10 mins walk away. The lucky lucky men don't really bother you too much, once you've said "no thank you" they walk off. I wouldn't class this as 4* due to the older bungalows being so dated, overall though, a good hotel. The grounds are lovely, some peahens and a few cats about. There are safes in the older bungalows, pay a deposit at reception. The sockets in the older bungalows are the 2 pin ones, not sure about the newer ones.
