Riu Palace Meloneras

A holiday at this hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel, grounds, amenities, location, staff, quality of food and drinks and service were absolutely superb. It is abundantly clear, the organisation and coordination from the management team make it such a success.

Another great holiday at the hotel as soon as you walk into the lovely reception you begin to relax especially after a warm welcome from the staff. The rooms are still very clean but need a little redecoration in places, the cleaning ladies work very hard & are always pleasant, (thanks to Esperanza). The service in the bars & pool service is very good & the prices are reasonable too. Food is excellent in the Magnolia Restaurant both Breakfast & Dinner, again the service is very good, there are too many staff to mention but they all go above & beyond!! The grounds are beautiful & are kept pristine by the gardeners & it was lovely relaxing listening to the birds singing in the Palms & bushes without any booming music. The Hotel is in a great position with the promenade & supermarkets, high end shops, bars & restaurants nearby. All in all a lovely visit & we will return later in the year.

We have visited every year since 2014, sometimes twice. A lovely hotel, with friendly and efficient staff. Everywhere is very clean, cleaners working in public areas all the time. Food was fine for us - a good selection. We must mention senior waiter Jonas in the restaurant, who was exceptionally kind and attentive to my husband, who has not been in the best of health for a while. Thank you Jonas, and all the restaurant staff. We plan to return later this year or early next year.

My wife and I have just returned from this amazing hotel and from start to finish everything was just perfect. The staff throughout the hotel regardless of role were always very professional, extremely hard working and very friendly. They always greeted you with a smile and a warm welcome at all times whether it be day or night. We stayed in a garden view room and this was spotlessly clean and contained everything that we needed for our stay. The restaurants including the 2 a la carte’s were excellent and always offered a good variety of food. The pool areas had lots of sun beds so no need to get up early although the infinity pool area did get busy quite early. The entertainment on an evening was second to none with a good variety of artists available. Thank you to everyone at this hotel for making our stay very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and we are already looking forward to visiting again next year. Many thanks.

Beautiful hotel here in the heart of Meloneras, in my opinion the best resort area in Gran Canaria. The hotel itself provides a level of service quality and kindness that I have rarely experienced and I didn’t come across a single staff member regardless of role who failed to offer a greeting and a smile. They were clearly determined to ensure your holiday was memorable. The hotel entrance is luxurious, from its chandeliers, plush furnishings and sparkling glass pillars. The white building itself from the outside is also elegant and stylish and in appearance resembles the White House in Washington. The check in was smooth and on completion we were guided to the Rose Bar to rest and enjoy a complimentary cold drink whilst our luggage was transported to our room. There are rooms in the main building of the hotel but ours was situated in one of the small single storey blacks dotted around the beautiful tree lined gardens which led all of the way down to the promenade at the rear of the hotel. We loved our room which was on the upper floor level, and gave you the impression of being in an apartment with a lovely triangular balcony. The room was very comfortable with everything you needed to enjoy your stay. Importantly, despite being very close to all the facilities it was so quiet and peaceful. It was like being in an oasis of calm. Staff go about their business with a calm professionalism and the hotel as a result is spotless but welcoming and friendly. We got sun beds no matter what time we went down to the pool areas metres away and likewise the buffet restaurant always had space. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. We ate each day in the buffet restaurant and didn’t book either of the à la carte restaurants which I’m told were also good. The evening entertainment was good and the bar service, and service around the pools was first class. You are literally only a couple of minutes from the bars, shops and restaurants of Meloneras and 10 minutes walk from the beautiful sand dunes and nature reserve. There’s a lot to like about the hotel and the resort of Meloneras. Riu Palace manages to combine quality, scale and calm without fuss which is a rare skill.
